I Got My Max Early!

So I have wanted to get a new Maxima for several months now. This weekend everything fell into place and was almost scary. I had a 1996 4Runner that I placed in the paper here in Orlando Sunday night. On Wednesday, work was slow so I decided to take Friday off for the hell of it. Thursday night a guy calls about my truck (yes, only 4 days later). He said he wanted to buy an SUV this weekend for his wife and was off on Friday and I was like hmm.. so am I?!?! I ended up talking him up $1000 from his offer to $8000 and he bought it cash on site. I was floored! I was thinking I would sell it in February or so. So now I only have my wife’s car.

Today we went to a dealer and he only had 6 Maxes on the lot and none were what we wanted. So we built one out to the T and he said he could have it in a week. The price was ok and we said we wanted to sleep on it. This afternoon we went to another dealer and they had 2 04s left. They had the EXACT car we built out as an 05 in an 04 model. 99 miles on it and an extra $1750 cash back. So we bought it and drove it home this evening!

I think we got a great deal. The car is a 2004 3.5 SE in blue. It has DPP, the upgraded stereo (no SAT so I can do the iPod mod later) splash guards, the power sunroof, Xeon lights, heated steering wheel, mats and leather. "Out The Door" for $28,000. I’ll post some pictures soon.

congrats, mr.b.

As taxes, title, etc, differ in each state, would you mind posting the price you paid for the car itself (before taxes/title/etc)?

I am glad you were able to drive the car home immediately; waiting is no fun. The majestic blue is a very nice color. The heated steering wheel may be wasted where you live (Florida), but I used mine five times today. Toasty!

I just got my '05 blue SE on Thursday. Congrats on your purchase. Mine is bare bones SE (still more than adequate to me) with splash guards and floormats. I was under the friends and family program with pre-determined pricing. MSRP was like $27,890 incl. destination. I paid $24,500 no haggling. I got $1,500 more for my trade than another dealer had offered me 18 months ago. I had pre-arranged financing, but the finance guy worked a deal through US Bank where he could knock a half point off the rate if I bought an extended warranty. I financed less than MSRP including TTL with nothing down and have a 100k warranty.

Yeah, the heated wheel and all that is not needed but was included in the DPP package I think. I really wanted the memory seats with the wife and all. It’s just easy. As for the MFSRP I think the car was $32,500 in Florida. Here the tax varies based on the county you live in. I think my tax was 7%? Anyway. I got out at $28,000 flat I think it was. So I thought I did ok. I could have gotten them down another grand maybe but I had been looking at cars all day and it was EXACTLY the car I wanted.

As long as you're happy with it. That's all that's matters !

It finally stopped raining. It's already dirty from the drive home in the rain last night.
