trunk question

Here's an easy one for ya'll. When you open your trunks do they just unlock or to the trunk doors actually open up.

I have to physically raise the tunk after I unlock it using my key fob. Is this because of the hydraulic shocks used rather than springs or does my trunk door need adjusting?

THanks in advance.

Thanks guys. Thats the response I expected.

I love the extra trunk space with these little shocks but hate that it doesnt open up all the way.

The gas actuators on the 6th gen are at a decided disadvantage to the geometry of the hinge mechanism. I think I remember that my trunk lid popped up an inch or two when the car was new. Who knows, it may again when the weather heats up.
On the plus side, with the hinge mechanisms tucked neatly out of the way, you can stuff the trunk to the top.

The thing that I hate the most about this car is the trunk but my wife's new G6 does not pop up either.
