Just ordered my new 2005 Maxima SE

Hello to all. I am new to the org. I just ordered a new 2005 Maxima SE Onyx w/Black leather, 6 speed manual, Navigation w/Elite package, power sunroof, XM satellite radio, splash guards, carpeted floor and trunk mats. Basically fully loaded except for chrome wheels (I would have ordered the chrome wheels except I don't like the 5 spokes. Looks better with the 6 imo). I can't wait till the long waiting period is over, but it will be well worth the wait. I'll be dreaming about it every night till she comes in.

I've been looking for over a year now. Started with the 2004's. Held off because of all the problems with the 2004's. I've been a frequent guest of the org. Thanks for all of the great info. Especially all of lightonthehill's insights. You are a good man.

Take care all.

Renegade,

Fellow Onyx SE owner here! That car sounds AWESOME!

I originally wanted the 6 speed but it was too hard to find and I didn't want to order it. You definately better post pics when you pic it up! You will most definately enjoy it. I love driving mine. Got mine up to 105 MPH today in the desert in a light rain and she handled awesome.

Keep us posted on the status and welcome to the club!

Welcome, you made a wise decision leaving out the chromies. absolutely every option isn't always best. (04s were nice being the same style as stock) I could hardly wait the one night after I test drove mine, good luck with your wait. hope it comes soon.

Amen!

Black is the way. I got many looks on the strip! A security guard at the Mirage was staring and then made me roll down my windows, they are dark but I am no Gangsta!!

Umm . . . thanks for the props, renegade. And here I was considering changing my board name from lightonthehill to candleonthegrassyknoll.

Don't be under any impression my posts here are from any great intelligence; they are not. They are simply based on having owned only Maximas for twenty years, and from having lived and driven vehicles (such as Studebakers, Kaisers and DeSotas) a very very long time.

And that is why I stay away from all queries concerning modern marvels like CD players, satellite radio, 20" wheels, etc. Give me a good old mud flap question any day.

By the way, welcome to the best Maxima board on earth! One needs no intelligence to know that.

Thanks to all for the welcome aboard. I will indeed try to get some pictures posted for all to see. I will definitely enjoy her.

Thanks for the welcome to the Elite club as well. The elite package wasn't exactly my first choice. The two options I wasn't willing to give up on was manual transmission and navigation. That combination forced me to the elite package. I really didn't want to give up the full back seat, but I wasn't going to give up those options. It was a tough choice to make, but I knew what I wanted, so I had to sacrifice the back seat. My perfect scenario would have been manual transmission, nav and full back seat being heated. But since nissan doesn't make heated full back seats, I guess I'm still pretty close to having that perfect scenario with the elite package having heated rear seats. I'm sure I will get used to that.

Onyx was my only choice. When I got the new car bug about a year ago, I said to myself, black looks sweeeeet on the max. It maybe hard to keep clean, but when it is clean, it sure looks nice.

Candleonthegrassyknoll, that's a good one light.

Anyway, thanks again for the welcoming. Take care.

Welcome, it'd be sweet to have that 6 speed, enjoy it!

I woulda went with black if not for the reason you justed commented on. I know someone with a nice black G35 and he had some swirl marks in the paint from washing it and I couldn't live with that, smoke is dark enough and that metallic paint hides a lot. I'm sure you'll love your car - see ya around

Welcome to the Org. I have only been here for a little while but I enjoy the commradary (sp?) here more than the other boards I used to be on. I do hate you for getting the Nav. That's the one option I wish I got but that car was no within my budget. Good luck with it though, you'll love every second. The break in period is the worse...lol and again, welcome
