Clear Bra???

Thinking of having this clear bra put on the front of my 05 Max. Anyone else had it done? Any problems. Its expensive so I want to get others input before coughing up the funds.

Here is the website if anyone is interested.

I posted my pictures many times previously. I had it done last April and have had no deteriation over the PA winter. The only problem I had was some air-bubbling on the creases of the hood. The installer replaced the piece several days after the installation with no repeat problems. A small amount of wax always gets on the hood line, but a clean tooth brush takes it right off.

Had mine put on after I got a rock chip in the first 300 miles - ouch! The dealer wanted around $350 for the hood, fenders, headlights, and mirrors. I gladly paid the price. Probably should have shopped around for better deal at a reputable detail shop. It looks great and has protected the car nicely. I also had a few small air bubbles. I took it back and they told me to wait about 3 weeks and if they were still there they would replace the piece. The bubbles disappeared in about a week. I agree that wax does get caught in the hood line. Thanks for the clean-up tip.

I just called the installer in Herdon, VA, and they asked $1150 for front bumper, hood, fenders, side mirrors. is this normal?
I'd rather leave it alone, and get front bumper and hood repainted after 4 yrs. that's gonna cost me less than $1150.

I'm gonna call the other 3M dealers and see what they say...

Wow! $800 to $1,150 is way to high. You can get the 3M kit for around $200 for hood, fenders, lights and mirrors. It can’t possibly cost that much to install. Here is a link to check out http://www.stickercity.com/store/cus...e.php?cat=1085

I inquired about the 3M kit myself a month or so back. And i was quoted around five hundred for the complete kit plus another hundred or so for install. Just have to do much shopping around before you settle.

I am getting the hood, fenders, front bumper, and mirrors installed for 499. From the looks of it I'm getting a deal.

do you think its worth it though... I doubt that someone will charge $300 for installation... a local tint shop might do it since it applies like tint...

anyone?

I have not found any tint shops that are willing to try it. Most of them have never heard of it not with they warranty to work.

would it still be worth getting it from ebay for 200, and have the dealer install it for (lets say it takes 2 hours to do x 70 and hour) 140= 340 for the whole install.. does this sound right at all.........

I asked if I could do this and they stated that they would not offer the lifetime warranty. So I had it installed today, it took about 3 hours and a grans total of ....(drum roll please).....533 with tax. I hope that I get my return.

Well damn thing is peeling off on the hood. Taking back tomorrow to get replaced. I guess we will see if it stays. It's pulling out of the two creases on the hood. Will keep you updated.
