couldn't you splic into that and create a relay? our display has icons to look like we have wireless capabilities, but they are non-existant.

It all depends on the wiring from the kit and the radio... I looked into this before with somewhat-limited success. Google up something like phone kit mute wiring or something... you'll get some hits.
In the case of my Sony Ericsson, what I found was that I could get an HCB-30 and one of these ( http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/06-215B.html ) adaptor leads... I didn't wanna go that route though, because I don't want a separate speaker to play the sound through... I want the sound via the stereo itself and not some dedicated speaker.
I'm sure this site will give you some good ideas as far as wiring goes though: http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/wiring.html
Have fun...

Well there is a green/white wire an the back of the radio. It is the factory turn on wire for the amplifier. You can use a relay and interrupt this wire to turn off the factory amp when the phone kit is in use. You can use the mute output from the aftermarket phone kit to trigger the relay. Good Luck!
