MP3 on 6th Gen Bose

Sorry if this has been asked before...but does anyone know if the Clarion/Bose system in the 6th Gen max can play straight MP3's burned onto a CD?

I plan on trying it to test it out....but thought I would save myself some time by asking first.

thanks

I did search...but found no clear answer. At least in the 150+ posts that it returned.

I could either spend 30 mins going through posts....or ask a simple question again. God knows I've answered questions 3 or 4 times over...

so please....don't preach to me

OK...thanks

But you said that it could not be done....but these posts seem to indicate that the Bose system CAN, in fact, play them.

Not that I'm necessarily questioning you...but do you know something that these other folks don't?

thanks

oh, i just remebered the 3rd thread. thought it ended with conclusion that it doesn't work. i tried an mp3 disk with no success. unless someone knows a better software or process?

my reasoning is that if it did indeed play them, why would Nissan be quiet about it? that would be a great selling point.

I'll have to give it a shot today and I'll let you know how it goes.

Within Roxio, I specified Music - MP3 player Disc. Not sure if it formats in any specific way that is different than a Data disk.

I have also, I get the song to actually play showing the seconds or minutes on the display but no sound. I know the new Infinity stereo can play MP3 from what the G guys say. I miss being able to play MP3 files but guess the Sat radio is good enough.

Well...I tried the MP3 disk last night....and as anticipated, it didn't work. I got the track and time counting, but no sound. It must see it as one big track.

Disappointing, but definitely something I will look into upgrading.

thanks

The Bose definitely does not play MP3's. I think the confusion in some of the threads was a joke the older guys were playing on one of the noobs.
