I sanded very lightly, but not enough to sand down lines. It was smooth already. The lines were built in to the lense. Thanks, bro. Im tired and I stil have another light to do. Check the other thread for more pics.
Sorry nismo... I used fakes?? Anyway dues you should let them sit out overnight and really cure before you put them back together dont ya think. Then tomorrow you can pick up those chrome silverstars for your blinkers.

I noticed that the camera cant capture the black very well because the covers reflect the light and make it appear shiny. Im trying to find a good angle to take the pic so there is no glare. Very difficult. In person, these lights are incredible. I think they would look great body colored, if u have a color other than black. Id love to see someone try this with a red op Max and paint the chrome red op.

Thanks, they actually look way better in person. I cant wait to see them in the light. Im off to bed. WHat a day. Id like to detail my adventure in the sticky that Nismo has for me. I emailed him regarding protocol for laying it out. I have LOTS of pics from each stage and I can explain each one. It took the better part of 10-12 hours, but I could do it faster now that I know how to do it.
I believe that painting the lights the body color is a distinct look. If you dont want to be distinct, I think black would still look good on dark cars. Im not so sure about lighter cars like white, silver and bronze. See ya'll tomorrow.

Hmmm.....Winter Frost color on these? Might be very cool.
Thinking of it, and DUES, reminds me of the new Vette headlights....Modena's too.
Nice job Dues, cant wait to see the daytime pics.
Any thought of running a red light across the front like Knight Rider??

IMO those look SICK on black, white or probably smoke. Anything else might be iffy.
It also looks like much more work than I personally would be willing to do.

I m awake now. Lighting is perfectly fine. I tested it before I assembled the front end. I used GLOSS black so it refelcts quite a bit. I kinda would have liked to clear the side reflector, but the orange throws in a bit of color. Would have been a real pain in the a$$ to make becuase the side of the reflector was cut at an angle to slide in the little pocket that it sits in.
Now Im wondering about what to do about the grill because the front is realyl dark, even for me, and the grill lightens it a bit. I would like to paint the grill, but I am wondering if there is a way to lighten it up a bit. Here are my thoughts on that.
1. I could paint it bronze to match the rims. May be a bit ricey?
2. I could paint it black.
3.I could paint it black and put the Nissan logo on - I hate logos though, maybe a bronze logo.
4. I could paint it black and put some other symbol or logo other than a Nissan logo or symbol.
5. I could leave it alone - I think it clashes with the bronze rims.
6. Other? Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Im glad I di the project and maybe I provided a bit of inspiration for someone to try it. Ill be glad to offer advise from my adventure.
By the way, I think any body color would look good because it seems to be a growing trend in upper end vehicles - Corvette C6 (i think its sort of upper end), Modena, Barchetta, etc.
I was wondering about whether or not painting the unused DRL lense was a good idea? Thoughts on this?

yeah, light tint like the tails would help. with that being the only white, the eye is forced to them, and i'm, sure you don't want your cornering lights to get all the attention.
personally, with your setup, I'd powdercoat the grille and add the chrome hamburger.
or u could bronze the logo. that would add just enough color and not be distracting.
a bronze grille may look good too. have someone photoshop that.
if no chrome logo, u may as well black the chrome stripes.
but the "chrome" grille is out of place with the oem wheels off.

Dues, mucho props!
IMO (and since youre asking) I think you should paint the grill black, and install the burger painted bronze.
That way you would keep the bad *** black thing going, with a touch of bronze to bring your rims in.

I was thinking the same with the grille and corner lights. Now that everything is darker they stand out. I'd say paint the grille and tint the lights. As far as the emblem is concerned, not sure. I think the bronze may look good. Chrome i like, but not sure how it would flow with your car. Actually i like no emblem at all.

Deus, get CLEAR corners, like on the G35 coupe. It would look hot with what I see now.
Thats if they even exist.

And we all know these are things that will probably never be ready-made by somebody... you'll probably have to go somewhere to get yours tinted or something. Not that I wouldn't mind paying him for the trouble if he started doing this...

Don't take this in a bad way....but the night rider scrolling led thing on the bumper would look bad as hell
Perhaps painting the lower portion of the front bumper silver or bronze would even it all out. Kinda like how the silver max has that black on the front bumper.
bronze lower would fit nicely, but he has the stillen waiting. so it wouldn't get noticed.
with a bronze main grille, the subtle lower bronze would be nice.
D-Max, if you were a donating member, i was going to give you "Batmobile" or "Night Rider" subtitle.

The shop will paint it along with the whole car but i gotta be the one to take out the chrome peice... i dont think im gonna paint the drl's cuz i have strobes in there and the look stock... as for the reflector... i think if u dip it in paint thinnner the yellow will be removed... i use to do it w/ my bike all the time when i was little... But u are the originator... Lots of prop for u
