Got my 2005 SE Maxima the other day.

I had a 2003 that got totalled out March 2, 2005 and I got a new 2005 SE to replace it. It is Coral Sand in color with leather and all the goodies.

I have been reading and I see how to remove the dash to install a new stereo. Has anybody replaced all the speakers and is there a write up to remove the door panels.

Also, is it easy to run new speaker cable to the doors or does drilling need to be done ?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I won't get too technical but there is a screw cap under the door handle and then you pop the silver trim off to undo the rest. I watched as circuit city did my new speakers. They had the infinity shallow mounts for $55/pr. + $35/pr for installation. I needed a mounting adapter for the fronts even with the shallow mounts. $210 total including tax.

And the pictures?

Have you actually noticed any difference or this some kind of placebo speaker thing? What about the head unit, did you replace it or is it Clarion/Bose? Did you do the rears/rear shelf or are you planning to do those too?

Details, details!

I doubt replacing just the speakers is going to matter...the system is calibrated to work with the speakers it has. I have done this to other cars, but when a new head unit was in it made it a different system entirely and is worth it.
