Hate it or love it...

I smell a lot of "hate" going on with a few of our fellow Maxima owners:

Its been like that since the 4th gen in here love it or it hate sad but true, this is nothing new if you have been here for a while. Over at the TL site they talk bad about the 6th gen regularly, but who cares.

I agree, I asked a simple question in the 5th gen forums and it went like this:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=389359

i dont know if its hate, its just my personal opionion. they do look like altimas, with the bubbly styling. my choice was either the 6th or 5.5th. some people say our cars look like accords. but who cares?i chose the 5.5 over 6, becasue of the price and value, and the styling. 6th gen just doesnt look agressive. 6gn looks best with 20s because of the bulky look. but thats just not what i was looking for. but if you love your car, then it shouldnt bother what other people say.

I certainly agree with you all about the haters.

My thing is if you don't like it keep it out of your mind and your mouth, that's what I do. If I like a car I give props on everything I can think of. If I don't like a car I never just bash it becuse I don't like it. I just keep it out of my mind and my mouth.

Most people that bash on cars and say they don't like it are just in denial. Just like elementary kids when they have a crush on someone they talk bad about that person. It's all elementary no matter what way you look at it, I don't think there are any professional critics that are actually getting paid for their reveiws on this forum and if you are a critic that is getting paid for your comments, eat a *ic*'up.

The haters just can't keep the 6gen out of their heads and for some mental reason have to talk bad about it.

It's plenty of cars that don't attract me but I don't go and bash because I can. It's not my car and it's doing nothing for me so what am I benefiting from talking bad about a car that I don't have. It's all about denial and plenty of people that talk bad about the 6gen are in denial.

Truth hurts now let's see how many people come to the alter on this and confess.

Churchhhh!!!!

Yea it is pure psycology though... Most of the guys here are fanatic about their cars Not just an ordinary car owners... Look at the time we spend on our Maxima, on the org.

No matter what Gen we own, we love it to death and whatever we own is the Best. We all try to defend what we have.

Isn't true that the older son/daughter feels little Jealous/left over/not getting enough attention at the arrival of a new baby to the family... Exactly....

May be we (6Gens) will sail the same boat when we have 7th Gen here...

It's an internet forum. If you can't handle it, don't post or ask for opinions....I always posted about my mods on my 2k2, and if people liked it , fine....if they hated it, I am a grown man, and I could care less. I don't like the 6th gen, and never will. That shouldn't matter to any of you. As long as YOU are happy with your car, move on. People talk crap to me all the time, because I went and bought a Ford....I could care less......dont take things so damn personal.....

exactly, I've always known tha Rustangs are POSs. but that doesn't mean I can't get along w/ Kloog...

maybe 5th gens are just happy another gen is finally available to take the heat off them from the 4ths. so they jump on us the same way they were. you remember in highschool, how the sophmores treated the freshmen? you graduate, but HS mentality never ends.

That was unfortunate... one of those guys is usually cool but the other one is a jack@ss, from what I can tell from his other posts... there are always haters and people trying to start something in every forum... ignore em...

Really the question was answered in the first 3 replies, so the rest of the thread could have simply been ignored

Basically, I like the "Maxima" and have not formed an opinion of the new body style, but I will say that I don't dislike it at all.

WOW...

I've never known we had so much conflicts... I personally like all Maximas!! Many people around me had Maximas for all generations, and I've liked all of them. I think I'll probably like the 7th gens too... After all, we are all Maximans...

I agree, I've yet to see a generation of Max that I did't care for. Some I like more than others but every generation has it's strong and weak points. I don't believe any one of them is superior or more deserving to be called a Maxima.

i chose the 5.5 over 6, becasue of the price and value
Which went RIGHT down the toilet when the 6th gen released... there is where a lot of the hate comes in...

check the BMW forums... they HATE the new 3's, 5's ... why? Cause they just lost their resale ***. Mustangs? same thing. It's just common forum crap ******* Enjoy the car you have and get over it.

Yeah Okiwan, good point..I could see alot of controversey....perhaps more...when you speak of the new 5...or god forbid...7 series...I think its a jelousy/taste mixture. I admit it takes time to really warm up to something new...and I like my maxima more now than I did right when I saw it....So these people may really be in love with a car they had for 10yrs...as inferior as it may be to whats out now.

There's a shot
Frankly the old Max's look like every other 4 door jap car out there. If Nissan is going to make a bold statement, there is going to be crap about it.

I'm secure in the knowledge that I'm (actuall she) is driving something different. Nissan has moved this Gen up several rungs on the ladder. End of story.

Ignore the haters, lol.

Funny, i think my 6th gen Max feels and drives 100x better than my old 5th gen. I even swore to myself to get a G35 when my 5th gen lease was up, but then I started seeing a lot more 6th gens in NYC, and I began to notice how classy this car looked.

When I went for my first test drive and stepped on the throttle, I was completely sold.
