they had to replace the bottom piece of the strut that bolts up to the tire rod of the car... he said that he rather make sure everything fits before he shipped them to us, and glad he did cause they wouldn't have fit...

but they fixed it I guess and he was willing to ship them to me by thursday, but this is really a product that hasn't been tested yet.. infact he had a test car there this past few days thats why this info is now coming up...

he also said he sold 3 pairs already, so those might come back with the don't fit prob..

yea man, I don't think I'm going the racing performance route anymore.. I'm just going to get the regular injen, y-pipe, magnaflow, eibachs mods and I'm going to throw some 22'' rims on it....

so the coilovers will be overkill for this... and I will be putting $940 into something that has been tested already, I'd hate to spend so much and have problems down the road...(you never know)

If you calc it out, coilovers arent that expensive. Remember, you are getting a spring AND a shock absorber. If Eibachs are 250 and the KYB struts and Koni shocks are 400, then its only 300 more for full adjustability i.e. camber, ride height, rebound, etc. Also, I think they weigh less and they look really cool, IMHO.

I agree with you Deus. Although I'm still far from getting my coilovers, probably around July or August, I will eventually get this D2s. And good luck Tek, with your new set-up. I'm sure your ride will look really sweet with those 22's on eibachs.

I'm going to wait until I lose a strut, just ride it out....
Maybe by then D2 will have their setup dialed in.
It would be nice to know who's Max they have up there so we could at least talk to the owner and get his take on the whole situation.
Since I got my speeding ticket I don't need anymore performance than I already have...back to light bulb replacements for me!!!

actually when i figuered out everything for the spring+shock combo i got like 250 for eibachs +500 for the koni's installed by myself without the refund and + 379 for the agx rears. and all this is minus installation. which i would probably do my self, but you never know.thats like 1100+ dollars. with shipping. so coilovers are the cheapest route. just seems more expensive because its all in one pricing.

yea you probably better save that 940 for rim repairs and new tires for when you get flats. if i were you id get atleast a 40-45 series tire, if it'll fit. ive got 35's and i cant even tell ive got a flat untill i stop usually.

Do these coilovers come with all new mounting hardware including the tops? I am sick of my stock struts with Eibachs making racket all day long.

Hi Guys, It was me.Yes! I became the accidental tester.hehehe

The D2 front fits perfectly, But the D2 did not fit the rear on my 04.The reason why is 04 rear is just exactly like the 350Z ( struts ).The D2 rear strut that i received is suppost to have a fork at the end of the strut mount, and not a ball end.It seems like it is just minor cosmetic that need be modified.I don't think they have to rebuild one,I think the just need to remodified an existing D2 350Z strut.

I'm hoping that the can work out a deal for my baby as a phototype.Hehehe
I hate for it to brake down later on with problems,It did cost a 1,000 from nolimitmotorsport.

What do you guys think ? Phototype ?

Unless I have a care that is built for auto X, I am not feeling spending the money for this stuff....especially if it does not fit. Driving in the city, what will it do for me at this price? Tack on the install fee and also possible dealer warranty with it. I know we are looking for new mods, but some of these things for the price are crazy. If I had a 350Z, might look into it. Only thing I would change on my SE suspention is the front drop. Not ragging on ya, just trying to figure out what makes people tick. All the high $$$$ suspention mods on a daily driver that is....well, you get what I mean.

Than again, I still stick by what I say.....if it is your car do what you want.

oh that was you huh..... I was going to get them also, but I heard of this prob and backed off.. I just can't spend that much and its not right yet...

my reason for getting them was for the even drop and the amount of the drop.. 3'' or so with them...

Chinois: Did you install the fronts and are just waiting for rears? Im looking forward to pics as well.

Carcus: I mentioned in another thread that coilovers arent really much more expensive than buying Eibachs and Koni and KYB struts when u add the cost of them up together. Plus, you get ride height adjustment to suit ur needs plus 35 other adjustments u may or may not use. Also, u can get different spring rates to suit ur needs.

Did they let u keep the not-fitting ones or do u have to return them? hint hint
Also, do you get to choose spring rate? If so, what did you choose?

Trading in the non fitting set to them once I receive the new kit.
Just for now I am going with the stock spring rate, I believe it will cost $40-50 to change to adesire spring rate.
I will probably change to custom rate later depending on the ride quality. You'll never know,Stock rate might be just fine.

I would suggest about 20% stiffer. I wont make it rattle ur kidneys, but it will hug the road a LOT better around turns. Im sure u wouldnt be disappointed.

Thanks for the pics. A full car shot from different angles will give a better idea of the drop. I cant really tell a difference from the eibachs from those pics.
