Silverstar vs. OEM, See if YOU can tell..

Sorry for the big pix if you don't have broadband..I know everyone here uses PIAA...but after seeing it at night tonight im kinda on the fence if I should even bother going to PIAA...Too bad you cant just turn off the blazing HID to get a comparison. Guess which one is a $25 Silverstar fog, and which is a $4 one. Go ahead, you know you want to.
(If you squint you can see the F1's, an unquestionable improvement)

you cant tell from the pics, but on the road, they really look better, and illuminate the road much better.

Well, either dont look bad.....but I went with PIAA and it was a HUGE improvement, they actually complement the HIDs. I dont think anyone thinks a foglight could be at the same level of intensity as the HIDs, but after seeing the PIAA Plasmas, I was quite impressed.

definitely the right side is silverstar (less yellow)

okay, what are you going for? looks, lighting, matching HIDs, use in fog, combo?

b/c if u go any whiter than the oem bulb, you may as well get the closest match to the HID color. anything whiter is useless in the fog and rain/wet roads though.

I went for a look I like and great bad weather performance: Crystal Ion (yellow).

but if a bulb is at all close to the oem, why pay more?

I bought the PIAA plasma gt's had them in for about 3 months and one blew out. I wore latex gloves during the install so I know it wasn't due to skin contact. So now I bought the Sylvania Silverstars and going to give them a whirl.

For the record, driver side is the Silverstar...I took the unopened one back because I am unimpressed. Nismo, im looking for the look...I never even use my fogs because I dont like how they muck up the blue color of the HID. I know it will defeat the purpose, and may in fact buy PIAA Crystal Ion someday..but I definately want to Try PIAA GT-X Plasma bulbs, which claim a very purple color. I know they will never match the HID...but I know the color can be improved, and considering they are only secondary lights, the look is of the utmost importance to me. The Silverstars may be great if you don't have HID and are using them in place of halogen and need a bright bulb...quite honestly I dont care how bright the bulb is, but im sure the GT-X is just as bright too. I saw them for $55 on ebay. I also think i need to use ebay to get blinkers that are chrome when off, and light up amber...couldnt find them anywhere around here, even though I swore Ive seen them before. I'll get it right....Rome was'nt built in a day.

I heard Silverstars have a problem with wearing out quickly.
