Tire pressure

The sticky says 32 psi cold for the SE rims...it does not matter what tire you have on the car does it? Is the 32Psi cold for all SE's wearing OEM rims? Just wondering what people who have this specific car are running.

[cliffnote]:GY told me whatever your car says, run that PSI.

i got one from valvelock.net and it works great. tried the cheap digital ones. u get what u pay for. but I don't think you can possibly get much more for $200.

I dunno nismo...but you seem to be the only person saying anything about it...i never noticed I did. Please site specific occurances.
Now if i begin to post questions, and follow them up with answers...
let me know. Otherwise I thought I conributed to meaningful discussions on the org..

Anyway, Im not gonna get an electronic one, but those pop out pen looking things dont work. I like the 1' hoses with the meter at the end. But ya say keep these at 35PSI on this car you think?

where did you get 35?? tire pressure theories can get very deep. you know what would be a great help to you and others? seriously, consider donating so you can search. with your inquisitive nature, I know however much you choose to donate will be well worth it to you.

just b/c there are very thorough/informative PSI threads of old you can learn a lot from as one example.

Check out this thread:

Its a 5th Gen thread, but pay attention to the points that MaxArt makes, I think he has some good thoughts.... not to say that its the only approach, but its definitely a good one...

average speed and wieght do play a pretty good part in it actually. In Europe, most cars do not give a 1 size fits all pressure like they do here. They usually have a small chart that breaks things down into # of occupants or wieght and driving speed, and sometimes season. I guess our regulators think that is too complicated for us and makes the manufacturers give us a 1 size fits all pressure.

Personally I consider the manufacturer's # to a couple psi below the sidewall rating as a useable range to me. For example, If the book says 32 and the tire will take 44, personally I would go for 40psi or so, then drop it down a little at a time if the ride is too harsh or for some reason it affected handling at all adversly.

I just bought a Accu-gauge from pep boys, Dial type with a hose for $20...very nice instrument. However I was pretty suprised to find my F1's at 20-22PSI all around (they werent even completely cold). Got them up to 32 all around, and the very slight shimmy at 60 is gone..I suggest everyone make sure of this before balance/alignments. The F1's will take a maximum of 51PSI..I was very suprised to see goodyear does not check pressure after installing tires.

I think Goodyear suggests lower tire pressure for their RSAs. I keep mine around 30 PSI

I run 20 inch rims....keep them at 32 PSI. Should be fine for 18" stock as well. Just my 2 cents.
