Well, here are the first pics of my WRX rear spoiler and Stillen body kit on my black MAx. Pics do NOT do justice, as this car looks fabulous. BUT . . . I want your opinions because they count. Tell me what you think, good or bad.

I use Meguier's wax and its great stuff. Makes it too shiny for photos. I use three step Meguier's polish for the rims. Takes forever, but boy does it make the bronze stand out. I havent even done all the rims either - just one rim,to see how it looks.

ahh, you did away with the oem spoiler? but still the chrome strips? a light tint should do weel for the corners then.

i notice your lower left tail. i think mine fell again since getting fixed. yours are hidden now though. No one's gonna know what the heck you're driving now.

Us Onyx folk need to find a way to touch up the wheel wells. some nice gloss for the sidewalls work, but what about the wells for pics?

looks great man.

I think it looks pretty damn good! I must admit I didnt I'd like the spoiler at first - but it looks really good. The Stillen kit is growing on me too. Might be my next purchase - gotta LOWER mine first. That should definitely be your next mod Dues! Good job!

Oh yeah, for the wheel wells I use Armor All wipes and get up in there - gets them real clean and shiney!

Here is what the process was. The body kit was painted, the WRX spoiler was painted too. I had the guys fill in the front license plate holes in the front bumper and had the whole front bumper painted.

In the rear, the OEM lip spoiler was removed and the holes filled and trunk totally painted. The rear bumper had two small dings from a valet a$$hole who parked it against another car. I had it fixed and whole bumper painted. Then, they mounted the spoiler for me in the back. Brake light not hooked up yet, but will be tinted and hooked up soon.

I had some other guys install the Stillen body kit. Total cost: $500 for body shop work and $200 for body kit install.

The reason I haven't dropped the car yet is I am waiting for good springs to come out. I have a feeling it will be VERY soon - trust me - hehe.

Like it like it a lot , have ordered a similar rear spoiler for mine ,gets done next week , our rear deck is about identical to to the US one so it should look good. Is your metallic black , got blue flecs in it like ours in the sun ?

ours is Onyx.. a flat black w/ no flake. I know a guy w/ an SL though that had sparkles in it from the dealer. u need to post some Aussie Max pics man.

armorall wipes for wheel wells? I knew there had to be a use for them. they will never touch my interior though. but that's for the detailing forum...

u never replied about the chrome strips????

oh yeah, as far as lowering, you rish scraping having a kit. I've scraped a couple times as fully stock already.

wish there was a way to hide the gap otherwise. the kit already brings everything else lower.

Dues - I'm with you on holding out for better springs or struts - seems like too many problems with alot of the Eibach owners...

Hey Deus I really like how the kit and the spoiler blend in.. looks real nice. Also the Grille adds to the look.
But to tell you the truth, I don't like the rims too much. Maybe it's my perception, but I think Blaxima's rims look a lot better and make the Onyx color stand out even more. Your car is shined and very clean, but the wheels make it look like there's something dirty on the wells.
Wouldn't drop it either, the kit makes it about 2 inches lower and you risk scraping it with driveways or parking stops...
Next mod: look for a grille to install on the bumper grille!! I'm still waiting for my SSe grille, it's backordered right now. As soon as I get it I'll also start looking for possible inserts on the bumper hole...
Generally: your car has an 8.5 on my scale!!!

at work now and the car looks good.....still not feeling the spoiler though. I like the subtleness of the stock one. Seems like it flows nicely though with the body lines. I have to say for an '05 you've dumped more money in that thing than anyone else in the amount of time. Liking the kit as well but it seems like your exhaust is a little off center. I like the dark look you have goin though...keep it up

Bond.......James Bond
Hey Deus, I guess you laugh at the guys that debadge and put tint on their car and call it a mod huh? You definitly put your money where you mouth is. I like that. Nice car, that spoiler blends exotic and class very nicely. Looks like one of those 007 cars. Like you could hit a little red button and shoot right over that Cali traffic. VERY IMPRESSED, nice work man

Dues, how hard was it for them to fill in the holes of the OEM lip?? Can you even tell there were holes there before?? How much would it cost just for the holes filled in??

Dues,

Its looks great man. The rear wing is definatly original, and it all comes together nicely with the body kit. Very nice with the oem spoiler removal!! Im jealous!!

For some reason your wheels just dont fit with the look though, imo. Something.....just doesnt quite fit. Hmmm....ever thought about powdercoating them black?

Not my cup of tea either. I do think the spoiler should have been mounter further forward; it's toooooo far back.

Looks good deus...i dont think the placement of the spoiler is incorrect at all..because the design of it would require it to be in the middle or beyond that, on the trunk..which might end up looking stupid. The WRX does not have a flat trunklid...so theres now way its gonna look like it matches the car perfectly. To the layman though, it looks as though it is for this car only.

Not a fan of body kits or wings, but props on all the hard work! Yours sure won't be confused with any other. I have to agree about the rims.. imho, the black with polished lip (like Blaxima?) would like mucho better. That rim may also make the chrome strips a non-issue. But hey, it's about what YOU like.

Another wing to consider is the one off the G35 sedan. It's similar to the WRX's, but it's a little wider and not quite as tall. The Max looks good, but damn, the wheel gap is crazy. That's one thing I really love about my G sedan and don't miss about my Maxima, the front gap is only 1.6" with the G-coupe springs (.6" drop) and 1.3" in the back (stock sedan springs).

Here's the wing on the G35 for comparison:

A bunch of us already have the g35 wing, myself included. Looking good Deus. Love the body kit, still patiently waiting for my day to come. So $200 for body kit install? How bout for paint?

About the spoiler, my first thought was wow too far off the back. Doesn't look bad tho, Something that would have to grow on me tho for sure. Probably would have to see it in person though to really make a judgment on it.

I also agree the rims kinda don't match now. Gotta powedercoat or go all black. But either way great work.

Dues,

Heres an idea.... Powdercoat your OEM rims black. That would look hot with your new setup!

Mine has the blue flakes in it too. It surprised me because I thought it would be a solid black with no flakes. The interesting thing is that I painted my motorcycle last summer with a similar color before I even got the car. So my car and bike match almost exactly.

Anyway, it looks great Deus. I was kinda doubtful about the spoiler but now that I see it painted and on the car, I'm a beleiver. Good job!

looks pretty damn sweet, but those rims look puny on your max, ever think of 19's? and droping the front alittle? then your max would look perfect. it still looks good though... nice job.
