MAYBE!!! G35 super charger fits the MAXI! (doubtful)

believe it or not i stoped by motorsports today on route 46 in NJ and they had a blue custom painted MAXI with different color hood with a letter sayiong supercharged inside on the hood.so i went inside ask the guy and he said it was supercharged.and i asked him if it has came out.he replyed like this.
"No, but we made it fit the g35 supercharger from Greddy." and i asked how did you do that.and he said $7 grands will do that for you.soo now im thinking to gt it installed for 7 G.and i even saw the dyno records also so i can get a copy of that tomrow when istop by again..it was close to 437 HP i htink maybe wrong..i forgot.well all jersey MAXI should call up motorsports and ask them..

Not worth it IMO. a 19 yr old with 7g to spend ? Not hating, just surprised. Also, pics would be nice, and that 437 is probably at the wheels so your math is a little skewed.

ill take shots tommorow of all the setup..and i dont have 7 G's to spent but i had 3 G's for rims but i am young and do like to drive"stupid" or little fast and likes to go VROOM with other cars and make them wanna sell their cars..so i decided to get the SC instead of getting 20's.and far as procedures goes..im not really good with cars but i know he said somthing bout manifold dispensor? i dont know man..ill find out all tomrow and write it all down.tell me if its really worth.and the horsepower was done by DYNOJET i dont know what software ill find out also...but the maxi also had g reddy SP2 exhaust system and i was told that it must be done for the supercharger to get the response??i dont now what he means by thatalso..but the bigger butt holes are needed for the SC also..

7 large for 172hp is not worth it IMO... I'll do 4... MAYBE 5, with everything warrantied out the anus.

If SSR ever got around to it, theirs is supposedly 100hp for like $3500 IIRC. I'll take 320-340 at the wheels and line up the interior with $50 bills and feel all happy about it.

Well you can't put it there on a Maxima, but I guess that's the only place it could go...

If you have a CAI then it's gonna be iffy... and the battery would have to be relocated to the trunk or something.

It's still pricey for the hp gains though... but I wouldn't turn it away if I found it on the street.

That pic is from a RWD platform VQ35 (g35/350Z)...

That is bolted up on the front timing chain cover, and on FWD VQs it's where the drivebelsts are facing the passenger side of the vehicle ... That pic is from a RWD as the engine is turned 90* compared to ours and the drive-belts/timing chain cover are facing the front of the car.

The lab rat is having his tires turned, he posted some awesome pictures of his ride, unfortunitely, on clearly showed his tire treads were going in the wrong direction.

As for the car shown with the SC, not an 04-05 max, front upper strut braces mount more horizontal and to the rear near the firewall, radiator cap is on the left verse the right pictured, and like NmexMAX said the engine is turned 90* compared to ours and the drive-belts/timing chain cover are facing the front of the car.

Regardless, if someone did finally SC an 04-05 Max, great. One question, did the price include purchasing and installation of the Greddy SP2 / Y-Pipe, because if you already have one, installed you can scratch about 1200 off the bill. Just wishful thinking...

I'm an Optimust, I will wait for 05MAXIJJ pictures... PEACE ALL...

if you move the battery the SC will be no where near the belts.......... we need that SC that bolts up to the engine like on the 4th gens...

you would still have to relocate the coolant, winshield wiper tube and ****..

Could this be why it costs 7G's?? Because they had to relocate a bunch of stuff....AND possibly even to turn the engine 90deg??? Would that even be possible??

Just curious

Are any of you really surprised that there are no pics showing a Maxima with an SC? Why is it that every time someone claims to have found the magic SC or turbo that we all seek for the Max, that person always turns out to be some kid who can barely complete a sentence let alone a coherent thought? I'm the sucker for even checking posts like this anymore. Maybe if they put the age of the thread starter in the thread title I would know not to bother looking.
How about we start to boycott threads like this. We could do so in this way. Someone makes an outrageous claim (such as 437 HP in a FWD car that has major torque steer to start with); the first person to come across such a thread calls shens and asks for some proof. The rest of us suckers will check the thread like always (because as much as we know this sounds like crap, we want it to be true) but wait until the demanded proof is brought forth before we start to chime in. One of the advantages of this is that a thread that is crap will die quickly if the thread starter is the only person posting, unless they can back up their claim. Just a thought.

#1 this kid shoulda asked the people to pop thehood and let him see it, pretend you are genuinely interested in buying it in the future and have the funds. I cant believe if the car was there he didnt even ask...and if they dont show it, it might as well have a V12 under the hood, because without seeing it, its pointless.

You guys are so untrustworthy...

But when you look at it, it should work, now shouldn't it? All you have to do is relocate a bunch of stuff, and while that might make it really difficult and costly, it doesn't make it impossible, does it?

Oh ye of little faith...

But I'm in the same boat... I wanna see it too. Did somebody email Greedy trying to find out if it will work after moving all the hardware around?

Sounds to me like typical "shop" BS to me.

The picture shown is from an ATI Procharged 350Z. I can tell it's a 350Z by the engine cover and strut bar. I can tell it's the ATI SC because of the SC mounting plate. Honestly, I don't see how there is anyway to adapt the G/Z SC units for the Maxima or Altima. The main reason being the 2" tall VTC solenoids on the timing cover. The VQ30 in the 95-01 Maxima doesn't have contend with these therefore the SC and mounting plate fit snuggly up against the timing cover. With the VTCs, it forces the SC to sit over 2" further away from the engine. The FWD Maxima/Altima platform simply doesn't have the room to spare, mostly because of the strut tower. The G/Z mounting brackets push the SC out of the way of the VTCs. Running a setup like this on the FWD Maxima just wouldn't work because the radiator, headlight, and upper radiator support bar are in the way.

Unfortunately for you guys, you're only viable option is a turbo or possibly something similiar to the Stillen SC for the G/Z. The Stillen SC is a Roots-style blower and it would require a new hood.
