EGR valve

More fun on the way..... has anyone on here had a bad EGR valve? I just saw this http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB05-037.htm

I can't wait for the chicago weather to rust out the catalyst and cause problems. Nothing like metal in the engine...I may be over reacting...somehow i doubt it.

There is a recently posted TSB addressing metal shards in the EGR assembly (check the sticky).

If I did or did not read your post does not, in my opinion, warrant an "idiot" label. You seem very quick to judge. Have you ever heard the story about the mice that chewed through the netting that had entrapped a lion? Everyone has value and we judge others harshly and quickly at our own peril. If others perceive that you have erred, do you view it as acceptable for them to call you an "idiot" (especially in situations such as this site where people are, at most, only very casually aquainted and where most people would agree that gracious decorum is indicated).

You never know who you will be connected with and who you will be relying on in your life. Some "idiot" might be the person who helps you on the side or the road, goes out of their way to give you over-the-top service at a time you might find yourself vulnerable (an insurance claims adjuster, a travel agent, or a salesperson who helps you find just the right gift for someone very special in your life), or saves your life at a trauma center. Are humans perfect? No. If someone views something differently than you, does that make that person an idiot? No. In my experience, it has often been the case that people who are quick to judge may not take the time and put forth the thought to consider views that might be very valid, even if different than their own. These individuals may have a strong need to put others down to preserve their own deluded sense of superiority, which in fact masks a deeper insecurity.

While I appreciate that you posted the Infinity link to the TSB, my thinking was that some people might not connect that the Infinity TSB is the same for other Nissan models, hence my comment referencing the TSB on the sticky.

Thanks again for the information regarding the EGR valve. Hopefully, Maxima owners for whom this might be a problem will be better situated to deal with the problem thanks to your efforts.

I've lived here nearly five years and I honestly don't know of any balloon festival. Maybe I'm just totally out of it. I know they have a Corvette weekend in the fall, that's pretty cool.
