Did you happen to catch if they will be CARB certified or will they be, as is nornally the case, "for offroad use only"?
It'll be tough to pry that kind of cash from my pocket unless they can be left on the car during the inspection as I have a feeling that getting them on will be a bit of a pain!

Back in the day before we had catalytic converters, you had "long tube" headers, but today most everything is "shorty" style.
These can (depending on their design) improve performance be reducing back pressure. The thing is, most exhaust manifolds (what headers replace) aren't as good at scavenging exhaust from the cylinders as a well designed header.
Does that make sense?
BTW, to get a GREAT look at what old style headers looked like, just google for "GT40 Bundle of Snakes" and look at the pictures of a raised engine bay hood.
