i want to remove all the trim in the interior of my car, this includes the door panels, the plastic piece that is on the floor at the door-gate( holding the carpet to the floor...you know the one that says maxima on it ...) the covers on the pillars...middle, front and back... you get the idea... but i want to be able to remove it right so i dont break it and i will be able to put it back...this is just so i can run cables under all that...

i tried to remove some but i broke two clips ...i tried to figure it out but its ....

You'll need a panel popper. You can buy it at any auto parts store.

For the door panels, you'll have to use the panel popper to remove the silver trim from the door handle. There will be 2 screws that you will have to remove. Once you take those screws out, you will be able to use the panel popper to remove the rest of the door panel. Pop the panel out towards you first and then lift up once all the clips are out.

For the door sills, simply use the panel popper to lift them up. They are held in with plastic clips similar to ones used in the door panels. Slide the panel popper under the door sills and lift up.

For the A pillar posts, they are also held on with clips. Start at the top of the posts and pull toward you. The clips will pop out and then you will have to pull the plastic pillars up out of the slot in the dash.

Good luck...if you can't find a panel popper or you are cheap ( ), you can use a flat head screw driver. But be careful not to scratch the paint.

I've never taken my trim out but from the looks of it, most of the stuff should be using friction fittings. The downside is that these things can be easily broken if not removed properly. What have you been using to remove the pieces? If you're using a screwdriver, I can see how a tab or two got broken. Try to find a long flat piece of metal to use to pry the door sills up. I'm not sure about the pillars though.

May I ask what you are wiring for? I may be able to give you some better ideas if I know what your goal is.

edit: rabenoja beat me to it. I was trying to remember the name of the panel popper but couldn't.

I smell dynamat...

The door sills are not that bad... I removed them and the clips look like they're designed not to break. They'll either come up with the sill or stay attached to the car, but they can be re-attached to the sill afterwards. There's a funky way to move the sill to get them to slide out but I didn't know at the time... I figured just pull and tape it back on if they break (which they didn't).
