wiring to headlight...

hi everyone...well, as many of you might know, i have the reverse euro gauges in my car. the kit came with a flat and nice switch, at the begining i didnt see a problem with using that switch and turning the gauges on and off when i wished. well, now i am very annoyed with that....i hate having to turn the gauges evrytime i need to, the headlights come on automatically and then i have to turn the gauges on...if i turn the car off and then back on, i have to turn the gauges back on too....

well, i just wanted to know if anyone know where i can connect this so they will come on with the headlights...even when they are in auto mode. the closer to the dash the better so..please help !!

thanks ...

luigi

It sounds like you need to hook up a SPST Automotive relay to handle your switching for your gauges. I poked around a little in order to see if I could find a good connection point inside the car but without a wiring diagram and a color key for the wires, I am coming up short. The next best thing I can think of would be to splice into the wire running to one of your parking lights in the tail lamp assembly.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If we were dealing with cars that did not have the switch for the lights integrated into the signal stalk, this would be much easier.

like the oem gauges, they are always on, its just that they can dim very low.... so your glow gauges will be on all the time the car is on cause the dim switch runs off the ignition switch.. you will just have control of the dimming on the gauges just like you did on the oem ones..

this is the way to go...... I would splice the wires onto the dimming switch and call it a day.. i don't have colors of wires to give ya, but with a test light it should be common sence..

I didn't even consider the dimming switch. Good catch Tek.
