Someone keyed my MAX

Some azz keyed the trunk of my car Can't keep anything nice. Anyway gonna take it in this week and just get touch up paint - don't wanna do the whole resurface thing - too much $$$. Maybe it can be buffed out, its not too deep. Wish I could have caught the scumbag that did this - he would have gone to sleep...

Will do pics tomorrow...

I feel the pain. I was washing my car this morning and found an ugly dent just above the rear door handle on the passenger side. It was obviously made by something round (about the size of a ritz cracker) and there were some scratches in it. NXT wax took care of the scratches but the dent won't go away. Looks like someone may have been trying to get something like a pole out of their car and hit mine. I too wish I could have been there. I only have about 2500 miles on the car.

I know keyings all too well:

Nasty breakup with the GF + Your nice car = Well, ya know.

But I never will know for sure why it happened but my old car was keyed on both driver side doors, fender, and rear qtr panel, top to bottom. How's that for ya?

I try to avoid paintjobs at all costs, because this car never looked the same when it was repainted....but it was a 96 and it happened in oct 2000. It was silver, maybe Onyx looks better if it needs a repaint, I would suspect it does.

So they just scratched up your trunklid?

Damn Jitsu, just when you got it all perfect.....!

Today I went to Starbucks with some friends, and I parked pretty far away, just to hopefully NOT have anyone park close to me. Well, sure enough, the parking lot fills up, and I see a lady in a RAV4 park right next to me...

I sat there and watched, and she came out I went over....no door dings, but I literally could not get in, she left me like 6". So, I asked her "is this your car?" She said ya, (with some attitude)....and I said, well next time leave me a f@#in can opener if you are going to park like that! Then, she called ME and a-hole and drove off.

Not to hijack your thread Jitsu...but its just seems to be us (car lovers) against everyone else who just sees rides as modes of transportation. What to do?!?!?!

Id rather be hit than vandalized...I mean....its also the principal of the thing here too...who do these people think they are? They are people who havent got a pot to **** in or a window to throw it out of. It would be like me keying up a Ferrari because its a Ferrari and I can't afford the insurance payments on one.

Stay away from those Rav-4's. How weird, my dent came from a silver Rav-4
in the parking lot of a starbucks...I dont even notice it anymore though, its so vague..but she opened it into my car. She swung in after I parked as well.

Yeah - crazy thing is that this could have only taken place while I was at Jiu Jitsu practice. I'm an instructor and our school is in a not so nice area. Had to have happened there cause at work pretty much impossible, extremely nice area with security and home it is locked in garage. Would have given a paycheck to have caught this squid.

Anyway gonna book an appt to have it touched up. Not much else I can do. I know the touch up wont be perfect but it won't be too noticeable.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I feel your pain, somebody did the same to mine and you can tell it was intentional. Its about an arm length down, starts from the gas tank cover and goes all the way around to the back bumper. Very deep and way too noticable. Havent had the time to get it repaired but, yes IT SUCKS!

Well I'm sorry about that one man. It shows people just have no respect for your things anymore. Check this out though. I just got my windows tinted and I took my girl to the store at night. I sat in the car and waited for her to return. I lean back to relax and bang! This woman parked right next to me and opened her door and hit it so hard it startled me. The funny thing is she did not know I was in my car. She then proceeded to get her fat a$$ out of the car so her door moved up and scratched my car more. Imagine the look on her face when she saw me roll down the window and asked her what was her problem. She looked like she saw a ghost. She then acted as if I was wrong for going off. She had enough room on the other side. She just didn't want to take the effort to straighten out her car. She paid for the touch up. My god you need to drive a tank around. People just don't care.

My Biggest Fear! Until 2 weeks ago when I got rear ended. Took almost 2 weeks to get the car back from the shop. Came out great though because the damage wasn't too much in the first place.

Now I won't get any sleep tonight thinking someone's going to key my max in the middle of the night...

what's a boy to do...

dammmmm i guess we all think alike..and im thinkin im way tooooo over protected with my max...as in checking and looking outside every 20 - 30 mins .. lol .. i always try to park next to a handicap section or next to the curb...but sometimes its too much of a hassle so then when you park far away theres always some a-hole that will park right next 2 ya a**.. but what else can we do??

I think its the magnetic attraction of the Max that causes these problems. I had my car parked in my garage and as I walked up to it I stopped dead in my tracks. Someone, somewhere, had backed into my car and left some scratches on the bumper on the driver's side. Its a bunch of those feather like scratches about a foot long and 6 inches tall, the paint wasn't cracked or gouged. I will be working on it tomorrow to see what can be rubbed out with some wax, etc.

The part that kills me is that I am racking my brain trying to think of where and when this could have happened. I park WAY out from the rest of those folks fighting for the closest space to the door. I'd rather walk to the door in the rain and know my car is safe from azzholes.

Be glad you don't live in New York City. 95% of the bumpers have scratches on them. I park my car in a garage and sometimes have to park in the street. Had the rear bumper painted twice and just had the front bumper painted. There are alot of as*holes here who show no respect for other ppl's cars. Warren

Darn, that reminds me, I still haven't gotten my bog 'ol nasty door ding fixed. Can't believe I've gone this long, being that my Max is silver, it tends to blend in.
I feel sorry for you guys with Onyx!!

I like that about he HATERADE! Sweet! TRUE, the haters can't stand peeps having a pimp looking ride. If it's not too deep, use some rubbing compound very sparingly, that would probably do the trick. Anyway, sorry about your luck! It does seem like you can't keep your ride nice for anything. If it's not someone purposely messing up your ride, it's some idiot throwing a bottle out the window breaking it on the ground and then you get to drive through it. Or it's the road workers spraying the road lines with paint. Most people don't even care, we are a select breed that are obsessed with our rides and their perfection. Gotta love it! Whatever you do, get rid of the scratch, or you will be constantly reminded of that HATER!! PEACE OUT.......

In reference to squid, LOL - meant no disrespect ot the Navy guys - just the first word that came to my mind Bikers call idiots squids and I used the term on the wrong forum - hehehe.

I'm sure that this was some no-job rug rat from the beach area where I live. Thanks again guys - this seems to be a VERY common problem for peeps with nice stuff.

Woman+SUV = Bad Juju. They think they are invisible. And Texas, truck/suv capital of the world. Good thing the Max has an e-brake handle for those up close and not so friendly rear view mirror encounters...Out.

With a screen name JiuJistuThug, I would have loved to read a post entitled "Someone keyed my max, but I caught him"

The ***** would have been in a bad situation and deserved any as* kicking he got.

Good luck with the ride, and just after it was max pimped too. Sucks.
