Two Tone:
hey guys I'm gaining interest on painting the car two tone... I would like to use the silver thats on it now, but paint either the top or the bottom halve...
I need some suggestions. tonight I was watching the overhauling show and they did a silver bottom and blue top on a suv.. chip foose on the mothers powerball commercial has that magnum kinda of a redish copper bottom and a silverish top... I also like onyx top divided by a red pin stripe and the silver bottom...
it can't be the whole car painted since i love my silver color, the suggestions must include the silver some how...
what do you guys think?.......

the headlight and the tail light both have a corner on them, I was thinking off the corners connecting them then runing just above the door handles so it runs parallel to the line on the side already..
get me?
thats a fuc*ing nice car in that pic..

not a fan of the two tone... but interested to see what the photoshop would look like...
silver/black has been overdone imo...
how about silver and MAJESTIC BLUE!!!
then if you dont like it.. you can paint the rest of the silver to MAJESTIC BLUE!!!

Maybe you could handle this the way Nissan did on the two-tone versions of the 1985 and 1986 Maximas.
The top could stay the same liquid silver, while the bottom could be painted a slightly deeper silver, almost pewter. You might consider doing the bottom using the silver of the 5th gen Maxima. It is slightly deeper/darker than the 6th gen liquid silver. I really like the 5th gen Maxima silver.
This would not be a big contrast, would still be considered as tasteful, yet would clearly set your Maxima apart from production models.
I'm not a big fan of having too dramatic a contrast between the colors of a two-tone car. I think I developed that aversion during the 175,000 miles I put on my 1955 Pontiac Bonneville, which had a striking 'firegold' (rust) and 'white mist' (cream) contrast that spoke volumes (all untrue) about my taste. That was my last two-tone vehicle, and I can assure you it always be my last.

Have you thought about red bottom and silver top ..
I like your plan to be different ... go for it...
Maybe Just red to the bumper cut off line and up the front V .
Dark on top of a lighter colour is very heavy well IMO ...

I like the idea. Personally I think you could pull off the black/silver look. But only if you tint the windows really dark IE 5%. I've seen it on a few magnums like the one shown below and it looks really hot.

That's a bit more work, maybe tonight when I get home...
yo tek i think it would be tight with the two tone but not make the second color be to dominate. you know what i mean? LIke rather then having the whole hood be painted let the second tone come to the middle something like this LEXUS IS

BUt let the painted area come in more and not have it so wide. Let me know if you understand what i mean.

I like my two tone. It is on a 2nd gen but nice color combo from the Nissan Factory, IMO. If I get it repainted Im going to keep this color combo. Its a rare color combo that was an option only the 1988 models. I think you should stop the color at the front hood.

How about with the silver on top and black on the bottom? Can anyone show how that might look? Then I'd call my ride, "Fade to Black"
Can't really get into the two-tone. Just my opinion. But the photoshops are SO FUNNY, especially the bearded chics! LOL.. I thought some CANDY paint would look sick. Like a candy blue with chrome metal flakes. Maybe with your silver, a carbon fiber hood with a custom painted symbol on it would look cool. Anyway, good luck if you decide to go with the two-tone. PEACE....
