How much driving in a year?

I drive quite a bit, so among the reasons I got the Maxima was for the comfort and solid feel of the car. I purchased my 2005 SL at the end of December 2004 and it now has just over 23K miles.

How many miles a year are other Maxima drivers logging?

I drive on average 50k miles per year. Before the Max, I had a Caravan (good for previous job, not current one) and did the same mileage. This ride is so much better!

yowzer doodles! i just got mine on 8/11/05 and i have just under 1600 thus far. i'm probably looking at about 9k or so per year. although i would like to drive the car more i don't want to put a bajillion miles on it in case i have to sell it or some junk.

I estimate that at current gas prices you are well over $5,000 per year in gas money (50,000 miles per year divided by 28 miles per gallon = 1,786 gallons per year. 1,786 gallons times $3 per gallon = $5,357). I hope you have an expense account!

Ha... I got mine in August of last year... just crossed 37k tonight.

And that's without too many road trips... that will come later.

For the first year i racked up close to 40k on the car. I'm only at 56k now, so i guess i've cut back. Car is 2 1/2 years old.

I should be right around 10k by the end of the year. I only have about a 5 mile trip to/from work. However I do travel a bit.

It's the only way to fly!! Although with the higher gas prices, I've been taking it easier on driving. I don't want the boss to say bye bye to the gas account!

Mileage

I average 16K per year.
My roundtrip commute is 25 miles/day.

Hey, i have a second question ( i am a new member and cannot post an original question so please bare with me).
The question is how to get the most out of acceleration form a standstill with and without traction control.
If i use the shiftmatic mode, start in first gear, turn off the traction control - i just need to avoid "punching" it because my wheels will spin thus decreasing my 0-60mph time - correct?
If i do not use the shiftmatic mode, leave the traction control feature on - "punch" it, my wheels won't spin as much BUT my 0-60mph time will suffer because the engine will decrease power being sent to the tires. Is this right? When the traction control feature is activated - does it decrease power to the wheels or simply sends power to the tire with traction? But if both tires don't have traction - then the engine does decrease power being sent?
Any insight would be appreciated.

I normally average about 13-15K a year in mileage. Only put about 6K on the car this year...

Been cutting back ALOT because of gas prices. Been carpooling with the girlfriend for the last couple of months and riding my motorcycle.

Had a 4 gen Max from 95-99 that was great, then drove a Camry (ugh) for a couple of years, then a beater Grand Prix. I do about 25K miles per annum. Praise God I am so happy to be back in a car I will love to drive, my brand new 2006 Maxima. First month: 2200 miles. Oil change next week!

I average out about 12,000-14,000 miles a year. With the 6th gen, I average out filling up the tank once every 1.5 weeks.

Got a little motivation for you guys that rack up the miles... My car has been at my buddy's shop this week while I've been doing some mods to it...anyway I needed a car to drive so he said take the 2000 max for as long as you need it and do a recon on it for him (used to be a reconner in my younger days)...gave me the keys and I was on my way...no biggie since I've owned 4th, 5th, and now my 6th gen... driving around yada yada yada...looked down and happened to see the mileage...wowzers...this car drives perfect....cleaned it up a bit --then it rained for 3 days, but damn it looks sharp if I do say so myself....just went outside and took a couple pics at night...but check out that odee

Low Miles

I bought my Max in November of 2003, so it's almost 2 years old.

I have just over 13,000 miles on it (Average just 6500 a year!). I don't have to drive it every day. I car pool to work (18 miles one way) and drive my truck once in a while. I may only drive the Red Sled once or twice in two weeks.

I know what you are thinkin', "a car is meant to be driven!". I love driving my car. When I do drive it, it just seems that much more "special"!

Purchased my 2k4 SE Elite back in April 2003, I only have a few hundred miles left before it hits 70k. Absolutely love my car, no problems still, always do routine maintenance and still have original stock Goodyear tires that came with my vehicle with very little sign of wear.

April of 2003 seems a little early for an 04 release. I thought the 04 Max was available starting July-August of 03 time frame???
