What is the best product to control the computer on these Maximas? I have been spending too much time messing around with my diesel and have no idea what we use for our Maximas.

well in all honesty i am going N/A untill a good turbo charger kit comes out. That or untill i get the ***** and the money to custom make on. Not sure why but N/A just is more appealing to me at this time. I'm going to reinforce everything before i boost.

Hopefully i can squeeze 20 out of headers and another 20 out of the IM of course i'll have to retune everything to see these gains but i think it is possible. Then comes the stroker kit. with this done properly i think 450 whp is absolutly possible.

10,000 dollars worth ...

And your math is ricer math -->

Best way to tune is with the EMU, with the added upgrade for the VQ.

Check the all motor forums, there's plenty of info on there.

I don't know if your numbers are right or not, but I'll say it again... it's crazy loot to spend on those gains. IF you can squeeze 40 hp out the headers and the intake manifold, you're already looking at close $2k in parts ($1200 for the hotshot headers I think was the going number, and another $800 for the IM from the link posted). Then there's the labor, but I'll leave that out under the assumption that you can do the work yourself or get it done for free.

Now it could be just me, but $2k for 40hp seems... I don't know... excessive?

Is there even enough voodoo in the world to turn a 265 (220-230whp?) car into a 450whp NA car? You'd have to stroke that bastard all the way up to like 7 liters or something...

For the price, forced induction rules the day... even if SSR pulls an SSR and leaves us waiting until the end of next year, $3-4k for an instant 100hp gain is well worth it IMO.

ricer math, blah blah blah. so your saying people aren't seeing 20 ponies with the headers? and the IM i am guessing but i am basing my guess on the fact that the z IM N/A saw around i think 10-12 ponies and there IM is already more agressive than ours, so i think we should see better gains off of this than they will. Yes it is a **** load of money and yes i probably will just go the boost route, but i would rather stroke than boost. Can you imagine the gains on the stroked VQ35 this the said work done.

You can get 450whp w/o the stroker kit if you boost... I wasn't clear as to whether you meant 450whp boosted or N/A HP.

So you think 40whp from an IM/H/tuning ... Maybe. But .. this would be on top of what you have so ~ 270whp? That's why I had the ricer math theory.

I guess none of these #'s can be proven until someone dynos the IM, and headers.

But this is semi .. since we we're talking about engine control management, and this is a very crucial role in getting the most out of these motors, so it's all relative

I do agree with the above stated. And i also agree that we got off topic about 6 or 7 posts ago. But this would all have to be tuned so it kind of plays a role i guess. And like teq-nik posted previously i would go with the haltec or the greddy EMU. But i am extremely happy with my safc so far and see no need to swap at this time.

on the TC site, it says that it does... it even closes alittle when reaching the limiter.. TC reflashes it to stay open all the way on full throttle, and they remove the limiter so it stays open..

all this info is on TC's site for the 5th gen maxima, it should be the same for us also..
