I think he means the power outlet. I have no idea myself, but it might be helpful if you mentioned what you're plugging into it.

I dont charge mine in the car. They affect anything that draws signals. TVs, radios, other Nextels, its weird about my computer though. Hold your next to it and see if it does.

Thats true also, more than likely you have a metal based tint and the antenna is built into the rear glass. The nextel just tops it all off and draws more signal

It dosent matter how dark they are... Its the product itself. Most films on the market these days are metal based so they dont turn purple over time. Hence, the metal weakens the antennas signal and the nextal does the same.. Either dont charge the phone in route or live with the noise for a minute

I use the armrest outlet to charge, I leave the charger permanently there. I have a Nextel too, I only get the static when I have the phone near the dash/ radio. I get that in all cars, including rentals.

Anything that utilizes a radio frequency to transmit and receive can and will have cross interference if the two frequencies use the same spectrum or one has more power and essentially dilutes the other signal. This is call CONTENTION, very popular with the US military for jamming. The transmitting signal from your Nextel may also be penetrating and causing noise interferance on you car stereo electronic circuit board, this can be verifed by interferance from a phone call that causes static or disruption when playing the radio or listening to a CD.

clear sound

I charge my Verizon phone quite a bit while I'm driving and have never experienced the static to which you refer.
