Y-Pipe question

Well I am thinking about buying the y-pipe form CE but I was told that when you install it you remove two pre-cats. Has anyone done this and if so will it pass emissions? Hate to spend 300 plus install only to have to remove it.

It will remove the primary cat, not the precats which is were most of the power comes from. Wait for headers if you want good gains. Oh yeah, you probably wont pass emissions with headers unless you get the ones with the primary built in.

As soon as I get mine in, I'll let you know if its worth it. The only problem is I've been waiting since August 15th for CE to get them in. Every week I get another lame excuse. And to top if off they've already charged my credit card even though its on Backorder!
It better be worth it!

It was charged accidentally, but I allowed them to keep it and put on the top of the list for the Y-Pipe. They've been having trouble with their manufacture, who makes the Y-Pipes (or so they say???).

I thought Cattman was making a y-pipe, possibly with the cat built in. Chern was getting a whole exhaust fitted, but I lost track of the thread. Anybody know the outcome?

CE-Y pipe is a good mod, nothing insanely drastic dont expect that, but its a worthy cheap bolt on.

Last chance before I put it on Ebay. Check out 6th gen classifieds for 5-speed auto Y-pipe. There is a difference. Can I post the link?
