You're probably familiar with the old MacPherson struts that have a shock coiled over by the springs. Having the springs out near the tires allows the controlling arms to amplify vibration.

Nissan is using a modified MacPherson suspension for better comfort. Having the spring in between the lower control arm and the frame and placing the shock out by the tire allows the springs to transfer fewer vibrations, most of which become asorbed by the chassis. While the outboard shocks hold the tires firm to the ground.

A4 is not fast enough...but the Audi S4 is on my list for test drives, the RS4 is pushin it with the price for the added performance....but 340Hp in that little car really makes it move, I bet handling is amazing compared to the max. They must hold value pretty good too, theres a 2004 S4 on a lot here asking 39,000...they are $47,000 or so new.

well those cars are damn expensive, but very sweet, i was surprised to learn that the handeling in the a4 quattro and s4 are pretty much the same (.86 and .87g). and while the car is little it makes up in weight (near 4000lbs) id go for M3 instead, but the s4 is sweet no doubt about it.
