Take the wheel off and see if the indicator is the one making the noise.

If so, well then obviously you need new brakes.

I have A34 brakes on my A33B and well, these things are great, minus the rotor weight.

But it's only been ~ 7500 miles...

Check 'em and see.

It's kinda "normal" for Nissan breaks. I'm approaching 20k with no problems. but I rarely if ever break hard.

check the group buy forum if they're still available by AutoMax_95 or any other sponsors.

Mine make the squeaking/grinding noise when they are cold but after the pads and rotors warm up in about a mile of driving they don't do it at all. And I had the new rotors put on at about 1500 miles and I have a total of around 9,000 miles now.

It does it on my Pathfinder too. I think its the crappy pads.

It's not the distance the car goes, it's the amount of stops that you make during that time which will determine if brakes will wear out. I've seen people who run paper routes needing to replace brake pads every 3 months. (Of course, those were organing pads which wore out faster, and not carbon/ceramic or kevlar.) If you're driving 10,500 with 100% city driving, then it's kind of soon, but not totally unexpected. If you drive 100 miles a day, all on the freeway with no stop and go traffic, you can probably get 60,000 miles out of a set.

If you're driving a 50/50 mix of city/highway, then I'd be worried.

City driving is what they mean when they talk about "extreme" driving conditions. Highway driving is considered light because the car maintains a good supply of fresh air and steady speeds.

I recently change all of my breaks. The front ones were worn out after about 26k I do a lot of city driving. I went to change them one morning and it was a nice day so I did all four since it was about to get cold out. The back breaks obviously were not to worn down I just didn't want to have change them in the middle of winter.

I drive alot of highway...47,000 and the brakes are perfect....you have a problem. I read a MotorTrend long term review of a 2006 Porsche 911 and they ran it to 100,000 without needing to change pads, and you know they arent driving it like a granny...DAMN!

who told you that you needed brakes? have you considered getting a second opinion? take it to another shop and ask them to check the brakes out, when they ask if there are any problems just play it stupid and say nope, no problems, and see what they say.
