Can the outside left mirror be programmed?

I was just wondering if there is a way to program the outside left mirror to lower when you put the car in reverse on a fully loaded (except nav) 05 SE?

that switch that you use to move the left or right mirror if you were going to set it for driving, just leave it on the left side for the left mirror to move down when in reverse, or leave it on the right side to make the right one move down when in reverse

If you are the only driver, you could program the second driver setting button (on the driver door) for the down position for reversing.

If you have an automatic, you would need to put it into P then push the 2 button and then wait for the mirror the change locations before putting it into R.

that is an 06 feature.
you can push the left button and down right? I mean there are still cars with "roll down the window and push it"

better trade in for 06

if you chose the 2nd preset option, it may work in N at a stop as well as P

indeed, not something 05's have. on 06 when in reverse you just select which mirror you want to lower on the mirror control and either one will move down, both will not go down at the same time though.

On the mirror topic, i was wondering if you could set the mirrors to fold in when you lock the car? the 2007 MB S-Class has it. so just wondering if it is possible on the max.

Is it a possiblity to get the 06 option of having a single mirror tilt down when in reverse on the 05's which have the mirror motors and buttons already? Should be "just" software right?

Another mirror question (didnt think it warrented its own thread):

How about some how wiring the mirrors to close when you shut off the car. And then open automatically when you start the car. I do it manually now. Anyone else?
