What would this compare to the G35 Coupe?

Well not to start any G35 Coupe VS thread but.

My friend has a 2004 G35 coupe with the stock Auto 280 HP Automatic Trans.

My question is if i get the Injen Intake+Greddy Catback+CE Y pipe
would it be able to be faster than the G35 coupe?

Any opinions?

And also are the Greddy catbacks "AS LOUD" as the G35 or no?

Ok............

Listen, if your boy has RWD he will be allways faster then because when he steps on it, his weight transfers to the rear and his tires grip better.

Maybe if u had ecu and a g35 plenum i bet it would be pretty close.

The best way to find out is to run him at the track. My son-in-law has a '04 G35 Coupe and wants to run me and since I don't street race I have to wait for Englishtown Raceway to reopen. I also have the URP and nitrous. I will run him once without it and once with it.

G35 coupe
CURB WEIGHTS
G35 Coupe 5A/T w/Leather 3,422

'04 Max SL
3432 to 3467 lbs

After taking off the OEM wheels, air intake system amd exhaust system my car was weighted in at 3300 lbs. If I take out the auto system in my trunk and the spare and other items, the car will weigh less and I think that I can beat him without the nitrous. I will post win or lose.

i was in my friends 6 speed altima se-r and he beat the sht out of a g35 coupe.
g35 was auto. ive raced an se-r auto and beat it so bad i thougth i was racing a 1.8 sentra, and the 6 speed i took a few times just because of his launch, he pulled on me couple time with a good launch once we hit 3rd gear.

a max that is worked rite will def hold with a g35 auto, if driven rite will def win.

Thanks guys for the input.

IMHO i think getting intake and downpiping(Greddy) Will make the Maxi similar IF NOT faster than a g35 Coupe.

I just raced him today on CLOSED parking lot and we both pulled to 80 Miles and there was barley a Half Car length....''And actually my 2004 TL evened out with the G35 Coupe. Im sure the Maxi will be faster with the intake and the pipings....HOPE SO..Cant wait till englishtown reopens.

Our intake manifolds are the sticking point as far as comparing the A33B/A34 to TL's and G35's.

Correct me if I'm wrong but....Isn't the 2004 g35 260 hp? They didn't go up to 280 on them until 2005's.

I would also add a UPD racing pulley, but I agree with nismo on this, the G35 coupe should run a 350Z and a G35 Sedan should run a Max which I know I can take.

Oh yeah, on the track...

I raced my friend in his G35 coupe and beat the crap out of him. In fact, when we got to the next stop light, some people in another car even remarked at how funny that was. Oh. . by the way . . I wasnt driving my maxima. I was in my 6 speed Spec V with only an intake. How bout them apples?

meh, it may get close.
but that's whether or not our "Smart" car really adjusts to return to stock after mods.

why not 290? b/c we are FWD and cost less than the Z and G.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a "6 speed Spec V"?

Also, look at it from a marketing standpoint. Infiniti and the Nissan Z are supposed to have more power because Infiniti is upscale Nissan and the Z is the sports car of NIssan. But I think Nissan used simple techniques such as crimping the exhaust to restrict power. A simple glance at the exhaust shows significant crimps, likely designed to restrict the power. Check out my thread on the Cattman exhaust

What does the spec V run for the 1/4? There is a 05 G sedan that ran a 13.9' w/ only an intake.

dues ive been talking with alot of nissan techs lately about our exhuast...those crimps are actually there to create the rite amount of backpressure without being overally restrictive....there are ways to better the exhuast but those crimps serve more of a good purpose then people realize.
