SAFC II installed!!! We just completed what I believe is the first 6th gen to have a SAFC II installed. We will dyno the car next week to see what extra horsepower we can squeeze out of the car.

Correct, maxmale was the first and he has helped me with some of the key install and performance info. Currently RedLineMax has my APEX AFC-II at baseline until next Saturday when we Dyno tune it in. Thanks RedMax, one down and only about 10 more things to do to my ride...

Here's the 411 (Available through RedLineMax)

DISPLAY

The new Super AFC-II utilizes a state of the art visual display lighting called Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) to provide bright & clear visual information. A new dot matrix monitor enabled a variety of information to be displayed simultaneously where the driver can check quickly. Information relayed can be either displayed numerically (analog gauge style) or graphically.

BODY

The body of this new product is slimmer & smaller (H52 mm x W126 mm x D18 mm) than the previous offering. This ergonomically designed body houses only a "center button" which toggles & rotates where it enables the driver to navigate (4-axis toggle: up& down, and left & right) and to select functions of the Super AFC-II. This button also has a feature that enables the driver to fine tune any parameters. All these features in the new model's user interface made it much easier & efficient compared to the older model.

FUNCTION

KNOCKING MONITOR

The new Super AFC-II has a new knock sensor function which alerts the driver. This ensures that the engine is tuned to perfection at every stage. This function only works on vehicles that have an engine knock sensor. MEMORIZES 2 TYPE OF SETTING DATA

The new Super AFC-II can save two data settings from data collected with respected to air flow adjust rate, throttle duration, engine RPM, etc. The driver could use these two settings in a variety of driving conditions, be it track, street, or just plain cruising. PASSWORD

To avoid the new Super AFC-II from tampering by unauthorized users, a password can be set for protection. WARNING

The driver can set up various warning functions in order to monitor the engine operation. These functions includes incoming air flow rate, suction pipe pressure, engine knock RPM, etc. OTHER

Settings & data stored in the new Super AFC-II will not be lost even if the it is disconnected from the vehicle battery power. RMP signal for air flow & pressure sensors can be adjusted in 12 points in 1% increments depending on fuel settings in +50% to -50%. Or the RSP can be set in increments of 200 RPM. Throttle opening duration: Adjustable by size.

Yea, I wanted it out of the way and in it's current location I can close the door and it's gone, other people recommend the upper eye glass compartment (too much cable routing). Also it's not a mounted install because my DVD Nav Drive is located in a compartment behind the APEX (Just FYI for other Org members: Only Maximas with OEM installed NAVI have a DVD drive there). Thanks for the props...

Hopefully, we'll get some decent numbers and see how the APEX S-AFC-II can enhance an Injen CAI, UPD pulley, CE Y-Pipe, GReddy Catback, and a custom grounding kit for a 5spd automatic.

Overall, I will remain optimistic for us modders...

Thanks, keep reporting if you see my car anywhere else...

Rims are Gun-metal with chrome lips. here's a pic...

If the look changes from this picture, that's a good thing, means RedLineMax is working on it,

not having a "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" moment...

No, behind the APEX, is a removable access cover the gain access to the DVD drive that plays the Navigation software. My ride came stock with a NAVI and thats why I wanted the APEX slipped inside but not mounted. Based on the fit in the picture and the fact the door can close over it, it will be just fine.

Looking good
Nice job. Just did a dyno run with A/F after work today: 230@6500, 219 @2500, A/T 3rd gear (CAI, 170 thermostat, grounding kit). I am way too lean between 3500-5200. By the time I was back, my Apexi was on my door step. Terminal N11-D according to service manual, correct? I just hope I don’t short the ECU.

Hey, thanks for the info, also, can you please post your Dyno info based on your car modes in Maxmale's thread. His thread is trying to capture all 6th Gen Max Dynos with modes so we can develop some sort of spread sheet that will be made into a sticky for all 6th Gen owners to use and get an idea of what types of gains can be achieved based on mods installed. Thanks and nice numbers...

Good numbers. Did you get this done on a Mustang dyno or a a dyno jet?

Why the change of the thermostat? You are the only one that I know that has done this and I would like to know if its worth doing?

I sent you a e-mail.

I wanna do this as well.... by changing the termostat, it opens at 150* instead of 170* stock... keeps the engine cooler...
