I Thinking About Getting New Paint Job.

I Love Black But Now It's Time For Change

I Have Candy Apple Red In My Mind But Not Sure Yet..

One Of My Friend Is Getting His Car Painted Candy Apple Red.

I Am Juss Waiting On It. See How It Looks.

Wut Do You Guys Think???

Wut Color Should I Go For??? I Want Something Different..

After Paint.. Im Thinking About Getting Turbo. It's Gonna Cost Me 7g

To Get It Customized From Shop In Torrence Or Is It Gardena??

Sexima,
Your ride is sick already.
But I Think a 2 tone paint job would be sick. Maybe a copper over black.
Or silver over black would be sick as well. Candy apple red I dont think goes with your ride. I think candy apple red, and 24" rims go hand in hand...
but that is my .02

Dont f@g out your ride with Candy @ss apple red. That would look a little too queer for a 6th GEN.

Labor is labor everywhere, so it's all up to the paint. If you want good paint and you want a shop that's gonna stand behind their work, you're looking at several thousand at least.

I was always weary of cars that have been repainted though... but I guess if you never plan on selling it, then it's not that bad. I know that if I see a car that was originally black and was painted some other color, it makes me think that the car was in an accident and needed major body work. But that's just me.

Electric blue or grapejuice purple, with a little pearl tint, will bring out your wheels and the INTERCOOLER!

you could go purple and white with your color wheel. it would look really nice. Or you could just throw on some sick graphics and air brush work. Maybe a gold and blue or gold and red. good luck on choosing a color. I hope you get that turbo also. that would be crazy.

Yeah, but what combination?

Two-tone is hard to do right... as we've seen by that half-yellow monster that someone posted about before...

I'd stick with a solid color, but nothing crazy like Candy Apple Red or Ricer Blue/Green. I'd do a solid dark color like the AMG Designo Graphite or that custom dark blue that you see on some M-series BMWs. Something that says "custom" without yelling it out... But that's just me.

If they're not that bad, one of those pro detailing places might be able to fix them. If it's just the hood you could get the hood itself repainted and see... depends on how much they bother you I suppose...

I dont think two tone would look good. I like the idea of candy apple. I love that color and I think our cars would look good with it. I love orange but its probably better for sports cars. U may try a slightly brighter red than the Red Opulent. That woukld go with ur red seats too. U may consdider ur stock color Onyx with some really nice graphics. I have always wanted to see a Max with graphics.

The proper way to have a car painted is to strip it out and have them paint inside and out. If ur not gonna do that at least have them do under the hood and the sills.

Keep us posted on the turbo!!! See if they will cut u some $$$$ slack if I or other people join u for a turbo.

Skip the paint job, because a really decent job will cost you thousands. Put the money in your Roth mutual fund account.

Umm... He's 21! I don't think he cares about retirement right now. Besides the $ for paint job is much less than the turbo system he's looking at.

Yeah yeah start now and you'll be comfortable later, but this is Maxima.org, not WSJ forum.

I always wanted to have the car silver on top and have it gradually turn to black for the bottom half. Then get vanity plates that say FADE2BLK. But thats just me.

now that is illmatic!!! I am on the fence about the paint. If you don't drive your car everyday and commute and what not then I am all for the custom paint job. I even feel the two tone I would put the black on the bottom though. But hey it is your money. If you got it like that then go for it . Being the Banker that I am I too would say invest the 15g's it is gonna cost you to do custom paint and a turbo.

Well there's a difference between "two tone" and "flames"

Like I said before, two-tone is REALLY hard to do right. I think black/white would be cool, but it can easily look riced out.

As far as flames go, I've never seen flames and didn't think "ricer", but that's just me...

I still say a custom color is better than two-tone, and it'd probably be easier to do. Take Smoke and mix it with Silver, or lighten up Majestic Blue or something... something that nobody's seen before, without it screaming out "LOOK AT ME!"

I think it's a waste to throw money into a whole new paint job, but then, it's not my car or my money so do what you want.

Here are a couple of thoughts on new paint colors:

Volvo has a deep gun metal color that looks pretty sweet.

Or go "sport" and paint it the Z's Daytona Blue with silver accents.

That cobalt blue may be nice, I agree. Id find a computer program in which u can chagne the color of the car to see what it would look like.

I was also looking into getting a paint job, all black right now...

And I was actually looking into a glossy yellow. Not sure if any one has mentioned that yet, but just my opinion. And when I mean glossy, I mean glossy as can be.

Anyone feeling my thoughts about the glossy yellow color?

Another vote for forgetting about the paint job and putting the money into a high interest money market or IRA.

That or throw the money all into the turbo.

I think high-end exotics look good in glossy yellow... a Maxima would probably just scream out rice.
