Any turbocharged 6th gen max?

Are there any 6ht gens with turbo setups. A friend of mine raced one in his saleen, said this max had twin turbos (514 hp) . By the way this 06 maxima was seen in WA, a purpulish blue color with a body kit.

I don't think anybody out there has a turbo (yet), or at least they're not on the org that I know.

I don't think you can fit twin turbos inside the engine bay... you'd have to move a lot of **** around to make it fit.

That would be this guy most likely:

He has a lot of stuff done to his car (and it's the only purpulish blue Maxima I've ever seen)

i would really like to see the pic of this max. I mean it held up neck to neck while racing a 600+ hp saleen until 75 mph. Anyone have engine bay pic of that car above?

I HIGHLY doubt it had twin turbos. Maybe the SSR single turbo setup. BTW, that camelion painted car is hideous.

I'm curious. Let's say this Max does have twin turbo setup. How did a 500HP Max kept up w/ a 600HP Saleen, even only to 75MPH. How did he get traction?

And it had the stock hood? I have to ask again... how did they fit them in there?

I'm assuming you're so confident in this because you saw it with your own eyes, right?

Hmmm... if people know of a Max with a turbo (ie, the purplish-blue car), why is everyone chomping at the bit for news of a turbocharger or supercharger from SSR, etc? why can't they just ask this guy where he got his?

It would be neat if it were true.

I don't know how any 6th gen with a twin turbo could have gotten past all of us??? But I'm not going to dismiss it because with a lot of money, anything is possible. I know our engine bay is currently capable of holding a turbo if the battery was trunk mounted and removing the stock intake, lots of room IMO...

That was my train of thought as well... there's room, but you have to move a ton of **** out of there. That's why I was asking if he saw this himself...

Yeah... something619 or 614, I forget. I know he had numbers at the end of his name... and that custom flake paint IIRC.

You have to modify intake anyway, so why not move the battery where the stock airbox goes and just put a pop charger on the turbo?

The only one that I see even close to fitting is the JWT twin turbo setup, and even that one would be hard because of the engine being mounted sideways. But I suppose with enough money, you can do it... which begs the question, why would you spend $7-8k on a TT setup, plus another few grand in custom piping and labor to wrestle it into a Maxima, when you can just put it on a G35?

And I'm still wondering how an org member raced this guy and didn't tell him to get in here, or post pictures or something...

HKS has a twin turbo setup for the VQ35; they had it on display at the 2006Tokyo Auto Salon. It was designed for the 350Z and will use their GT series ball-bearing turbochargers and an all-new exhaust system.

It's the rear bank that's the problem. There aren't a lot of room back there. A single turbo system will be easier to fabricate.

ok, was told to come on here and post what had happend. I'm the owner of the saleen. anyways well he didnt add first off i was running @12PSI normally i run at 20+ and second yes it was Twins. was 2 seperate turbo's + he told me they were twins. he said it was all custom built. he had a local shop do all the work for him. and custom build the turbos. anything can be done there's an 8 turbo'd 57 chevy bel-air out there on the net. http://www.lateral-g.org/sandlin/
anyways .. anything can be done its who you know and how much $$ you have and im sure a job like that wasnt cheap at all. im guessing atleast 15-20grand done to the car counting engine work, tuning , Intake, headers , exhaust ,wastegates. ECU etc etc, I saw it, i raced it, guy pulled over, we had a decent 15 min convo about car's and his car and we went our ways because i had stuff todo. interesting to say the least. was a nice car. i told him to ask you guys if you had seen it around or if anyone in WA had. anyways. well talk to you guys later. glad to see the org is doing good. I havent been on here in a while since i sold the max. i miss it alot lol.

First off the torque steer on a FWD Max with that much horse would be impossible to handle. Did this guy have his car moded as an AWD from the
G35x or did he change it to a RWD setup.

Second APS out of Australia MFGs. a twin turbo set-up for the 350z and G35 Coupe. Over 500 HP and I have heard of guys up here in Canada that have had it done and added NOX Too! Those things are just plain dangerous. They can smoke 99 % of anything out there that is street...and driveable, I'm not talking Race car, I talking Luxo-sport sedan here! Who would be crazy enough to spend that kind of dough on top of what you already pay for a Max. Just go out and buy something with the power already built in like a Hummer LOL!

So what you're saying is that you're an org member, that you see a guy with a twin turbo 6th gen and you a) don't take pictures, b) don't post about it and c) don't tell him to get onboard here and make us all drool?

Damn, that's just plain mean dude... MEAN.

500hp to the front wheel's would be a terrible driving experience.

I can't imagine how annoying it'd get trying to get any grip on sh*tty roads.

How the dose maxima.org loose tabs on a report of a Maxima with a twin turbo????
