Changing out the rear bulbs

How do you remove the rear brake-turn light housing? I removed the 2 screws from the truck and it still wont come loose.

Thats all that there is, you just have to carefully wobble it out now because its held on a clip type of thing, and be careful not to drop it or when it yanks out all of a sudden to let it go becasue i did and scratched the little cover thing on the light! lol but ya thats about it, good luck

sry for going off topic, but i dont have enough posts on the forum yet to start up a new thread. i have a 2005 maxima and i wanted to change the map lights and the rear map light (if thats what its called) to leds. i found out that the map lights in the front are festoon shaped but i dont have my car with me right now to measure out and see how big of a led i can fit in there. Does anyone know the dimensions of what size led i can get in there, for the front and rear map lights.

thanks

OK newbs here we go!!!
Here's the how to I wrote up on changing the tails to LED's (but it shows how to remove them as well)
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=455704

As for the map lights you need the 39-44 mm length. They should both work:
Here's a link as well:

"Map light
DE3021

Dome light
DE3175 "

and those bulb sizes only are for the 31 mm ones. anyone gunna be able to bust out a ruler on them map lights for me? lol

These are the leds I replace my dome bulbs with; LINK. Not sure if that helps you out any, but they were a tight fit and I'm almost sure they are 31mm (as per http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm) Check them out, they tell you which bulbs you can swap for larger sizes, looks like your larger ones will not fit.

alright thats what i was thinking. do u kno how wide of a bulb u can fit in the 2005 maxima as well? if anyone could be kind enough to meausre it out or look at the previous bulbs they put in. i was thinking of going 31x19mm wide? will that fit?

and finally, are the rear overhead lights the same exact bulb as the front map lights?
