Tire, and Hesitation issue...

Hey all, driving yesterday, with the AC on, when I floored it on the highway, there was a slight delay until it actually kicked into high gear and got moving. Now, I might assume that this is due to electronic drive by wire? I am just checking to make sure nothing is wrong. It is an 04 Maxima SE, 5AT. Second issue, my driver side front tire has an anurism on the sidewall of it. According to the warranty, I will be prorated towards the purchase of a new tire taking into consideration the milage and wear on the tire. My question is, do any of you have any ideas on how I can get around the problem of having 1 fresh tire, and 3 older ones, then when I have to change the older ones I would have 3 new and 1 old. It is just an issue that would be annoying. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have the Badyear RSA tires then go here and read post #2 it lists several links to follow from there.
The sidewalls on the RSA’s have a known issue.

As for the hesitation, depends on the miles. If you are due for service or maintenance have it done and try again. It could be anything from the air filter to spark plugs to the plug wires, so it’s hard to say. If everything is current try resetting the ecu.

And if you do have to go with one new and three old tires, put the new one on the rear. It isn't always good to have different 'size' tires on the drive axle (the outer diam of the new tire will be very slightly larger than a worn tire; this puts abnormal stress and wear on the differential).

I would look very hard at the three older tires, in case there is the first sign of an aneurism or sidewall cracking on one of them. If external sidewall cracking is not visible, you might even take them off the rims, as some sidewall cracking is more pronounced on the inside. If you could get two tires replaced for defections, then you would be in good shape.

Any significant hesitation is not normal for the Maxima, which is a 'drive-by-wire' vehicle.

Yeah, I second the idea of inspecting the inner sidewalls. It has been reported that people had no visible cracking on the outside but had major cracking on the inside. When I had my tires replaced, the insides were far more cracked than the outside (I could nearly stick a penny into one of the cracks...).

Anyway, you might ask about getting them all replaced for fear of being defective - it's likely that they all came from the same batch and will crack soon as well.

Have them jack up the car and check all of the tires . I had cracks on all 4 tires.

the hesitation is probably normal since u were in 5th going down to 2nd or 3rd.

For the tires, ive heard of chaning the front 2 if its on the front or just the rear 2 if its on the back.
