See ya, guys. I had fun!

My '04 Maxima was as trouble-free and economical car as I've ever had. It never complained and never needed any repairs and it never developed a single rattle. It was good-looking and it ran like heck. All this with over 21mpg in town and as much as 30mpg on the road.

But it is now history. I traded it yesterday for an '06 Acura TL, 6 weeks before its lease was up. By doing so, BTW, I saved over $500 in sales tax on the TL. Probably could have gotten a little more, but the Acura dealer made me such a good deal on the TL that I didn't fight him.

Interestingly, I had the Nissan lease-end inspection on Friday, and the guy told me he was assessing no excess wear and tear charges since the car was as pristine as a 41,000-mile car can be expected to be.

As I've stated here already, my experience with my Maxima made me consider getting another one, especially since they've added content and really niced-up the interior. But after driving one, I couldn't make myself like the CVT. Maybe some day, but not yet.

So, with my M45 gone and the Maxima traded, I'm no longer in the Nissan/Infiniti family. It's been a hoot, but for now I'll just say buh-bye.

Sorry to see you go, but best of luck to you.

Enjoy the TL. The TL was on my short list, but got too good a deal on my Max.

Thanks, guys and gals. The TL is a nice car, and I'm sure it will get the job done, but I'll miss the Maxima's torque. No matter what the TL fans tell you, the Maxima feels like a quicker car in eveyday driving.

Best part is I was able to get it just a little below invoice!

Pics of your new ride would be nice.

I had an 02 Acura TL, the ride was very nice and the engine did have some pull. The double wishbone suspension is the better setup compared to the Max. My Acura was only in the shop for oil changes and tire rotations. I think you will like the refined details of the Acura. Please keep us posted. Good luck.

Another one bites the dust! Sorry to see you go, but I guess comin out of a lease, what else in the nissan family could you go with? Certainly not the CVT Max, or the generic altima.....

Sorry to see you go. I've been carshopping like you for the past 2 months.

Seriously Looking at used Caddy CTS-V. HUGE step up in performance.

Still hanging onto the max for a lil while because she has been so good to me, not sure I wanna switch just yet but with the CVT and no RWD for the new maxes I won't be sticking around forever.

Sorry to see you go. Stupid question/s: was your leased maxima modded in any way? Such as grill, wheels, etc? Did you have to remove the aftermarket parts and re-install OEM to pass the lease-end inspection? If so, are you selling any of them? Really good choice on the TL, the car can def. pull, you should invest and put a supercharger on that thing, you'll def. stand out.

When my lease is up (yes it's leased!!) it will be pretty much back to stock minus the welded on Magnaflows and some other minor mods...big sale that day!! As for the next car, my timing fits right in with the 7th gen release so we'll just have to wait and see what Nissan has to offer me. (fingers crossed)

Thanks - No, the car was bone stock except for 35% tints, so I didn't have to do anything except remove the radar detector and clean out the door pockets and console.

Good pick, my next car will be an 04-05 6 speed TL. They are hot with the A-spect kit. White/tan/wood/navi/6mt = godly good.

Yep, I've been hanging around Acurazine for some time, learning all I could about the TL. For those who asked, here's a few pix:

I looked at TLs the other day, very nice...I like how they are a little bit smaller too. Performance is pretty much the same.

Jsmith- Did you sign your lease knowing you were going to do that much stuff to it? I suppose you could take it all off and sell it piece by piece....but still..you're never going to get all the money back.

Mike, i do like the Anthracite. My brother In Law was looking good and hard at one of those. I guess Acura couldn't do as good as Lexus, so he went with and 07 ES350!

I truly hope you enjoy it.

Did you lease this as well or was this an outright purchase? If I remember from your former posts, you're a leasing fellow, correct?

I think I speak for all of us when I say that you are welcomed back here anytime!

J-Leased? You're killing me!!! Do you ever kick around the idea of purchasing the leased whip at the end? We leased a new Tundra (loaded) last December. With as little as we drive it, we were wishing we had purchased it. (2100 miles on it so far)!!!

Yep, 4MySwee - I leased again. That seems to work best for me since I like a new car every 3 years at most.

And thanks for the kind words!

Im young and made my first purchase with my max when i purchased it brand new. I put about 10k down and after one year i cant even recoup my down payment looks like ill get about 8 k back if i try really hard.

I like my cars stock for the most part and i dont put too much milage on, about 15k a year, so next time i break the 30k mark in buying a car i will def consider the lease much more and prob keep and trade out in 2 years and keep going and goin.

Oh yeah congrats my friend and def a nice choice, but i think the new G35 may be in my sights after i graduate from college, of course if these damn school loans dont drown me first.

Thanks for the pics.... the grey is nice but there is something about a shinny black car...... Acurazine is a nice website too, I spent a lot of time there when I had my 02 TL. Did they warranty the tranny for the 7 yrs 100,000 miles? I know they were having some troubles, I never did but many did.

Peace.

6 years/70,000 on the drivetrain. They supposedly fixed the tranny issues in the '05 model.

But it doesn't matter to me, since I have a 3 year lease and won't have it long enough to be out of warranty.

Little behind on this post, but I must say, certainly can't blame you on the new TL. Enjoy.
