Time to Get Another Car!

Well, it looks like its time for me to get another car..

It's been a good run with the 04 Max...however, I'm not trading it in..I'm buying it out and then leasing a new car of course

I have a list of some new cars to buy..please pick your choice via the Poll. Polls would be appreciated. Thanks.

Acura has a pretty good lease special on the TL right now... $399/mo w/ $2400 total out of pocket, 3/yrs.

If that deal was on the table 6 weeks ago I might have gone a different way. They were $419/mo $3800 total down back then.

Id choose the new G35 sedan when it comes out..then the TL. The current G sedan is hideous, the coupe would be my 1st choice before the new sedan hits.

Not sure if I would go as far as "hideous", but it was the styling that kept me from getting overly enthisiastic about the '06 G. The '07 definitely looks better but I'm not sure about the cut-line in the hood... sort of Taurus-esque. Have to see one in person, I guess. Maybe photos just overemphasize it.

Look at the fourth picture on the View Photos page to see what I mean about the Taurus-style cut line of the hood. Otherwise looks pretty damn nice to me.

Thanks. I see what you mean on the pic. Don't like that very much, but your right, other than that the car is great. It looks like it borrowed some styling cues from Lexus with the IS250 & ES350. Good looking car. 2006 G35 looks great too.

I hope the 07 Altima comes out soon, so I can give it a good test drive. I saw it at the New York International Auto Show. It was amazing for an Altima. Leather interior was gorgeous, same with the exterior, both front and rear. 07 Sentra wasn't bad..but not for me. I'd get the 07 Max..but I need to try out more cars in my life than just Maximas.

Hope I can get a good deal on the 07 G35. How much do you pay for your Maximas a month (04-07)? I got my 04 Brand New when it came out, $2500 down, and I pay $355 a month.

Seems like EVERYONE is borrowing cues from Chris Bangle, Toyota/Lexus especially. When the first “Bangled” BMWs hit the streets I thought he ruined the best looking sedans out there — but some of his ideas look pretty good on cars I don't expect to look like BMW's.

I don't know if its growing on me or just the thought of 500HP, but the M5 is starting to look pretty good to me, too. Too bad its 2-3x my price range.

Cailber????

Cailber?? If anyone choses this they should be tortured in the worst possible way. That could be one of the ugliest cars ever made.

Dodge Caliber huh... You lost all respect.

Why no Subaru? Legacy GT Limited. Blow the doors off all the cars you have listed.

If you like queer cars like the Caliber you should get a more manly Forester XT with a stick. With very few mods it can be the best sleeper Mustang GT killer on the road today.

I'm not getting the Caliber.

Since I purchased my Maxima, in the mail I received something from Nissan that reads..

"You have received a line of credit for $32,500 for your next purchase." ...DO you think that includes Infiniti as well?

HOw did the Dodge Caliber get mixed into that poll?

FWD sucks and the Caliber is ugly. Go with the G35 coupe.

I'd prefer G35 Coupe over sedan..Are they launching an 07 Coupe & Sedan, or just Sedan? Hell if they launch both, I'll grab an 06 G35 Coupe for a gooood deal!

Good luck on your next ride. Out of your choices I would go with the G35.

I've been car shopping for the past 3 months and have set my sights on the Caddy CTS-V. I LOVE the looks of my max but I simply need more ummph I'm done trying to mod this FWD car to be something she's not.

The Caddy has 400 hp STOCK / 0-60 of 4.6 with a proven racing history Throw a Magnuson SC in her and the hp jumps to 530 with 480hp @ the wheels & 430 tq!

New are $45K.

A used 05 or 04 are are high 30's.

I barely missed an 05 with only 11K miles on it for $38K.

Went out to buy it and it sold the day before

Not another Maxima..I'm not so sure about the CVT, and Skyline won't come out in time.

Jiu..A black CTS-V looks extremely nice, especially with the Mesh Grille with Caddy Symbol that they upgrade it to. Anyone with a CTS..easy upgrade to make it look nice is to add the CTS-V grille to your car.

Defiant - yeah, you could go the regular CTS route and upgrade grill for looks. I love the looks because it really reminds me of the lines of the max

Reason to go with the "V" is for the huge extra ponies

I might be able to get into the V. I was curious so I went on cadillac.com and checked out there "Special Offers". And for the $41k 06 DTS, it was 399 a month with $2999 down..so if a CTS-V is close to that price range, it will be mine!

HOWEVER, I still need to test the G35, 325i, A4, and TL! And the rest on the list with the exception of the Caliber.

Out of all the car's you have listed I would choose the Acura TL but there A-spec addition. Or you can wait a little longer and get the First Skyline to be legally released in the US. But that's just me and I can't afford one single car that you want...lol

BTW - '07 TL will revive the Type-S option. Includes most of the A-Spec stuff plus a bump in displacement (3.5L) and in HP (~286hp).

From Boston.com:

Type-S, as in “Sinister”

Acura's TL line is hot and frisky, yet still elegant
By Royal Ford | August 5, 2006

Acura describes its 2007 TL Type-S as “sinister”, a word I've never associated with Honda's upscale division.

But the hot Type-S is surprisingly frisky, something I discovered during a day of driving it out of the woods of Pennsylvania and through the twisting back roads of neighboring Maryland.

I also found the base TL version to have the kind of oomph that not long ago would have been labeled high performance. Maybe that's because the new TL has the same horsepower as the old Type-S. In fact, it was powerful enough to make me wonder if the extra few thousand for the Type-S is necessary, except for those who want crazy power instead of just superb performance.

The TL in base form has a 3.2-liter V-6 engine that produces a hefty 258 horsepower and 233 lb.-ft. of torque. Upgrade to the Type-S and you get a 3.5-liter V-6 with 286 horsepower and 256 lb.-ft. of torque.

Expect around 23 miles per gallon from the smaller engine and about 21 from the more powerful option.

The standard transmission in each model is a five-speed automatic with a manual option that can be shifted with paddles on the steering wheel. In the Type-S, the engine is revved on downshifts (called ``blipping" in a race car) for smoother transitions while maintaining speed.

It is a transmission that truly let's you be in charge when you opt to go manual -- something many automatics with manual option do not allow.

As you might guess, Acura's target TL customer -- particularly for the Type-S -- is a male in his 40s with an income of $100,000 or more. That's not to say that other people won't be able to afford the car when it goes on sale in the fall. Acura is pricing its TL models at between $34,000 and $39,000.

The company calls the TL an ``entry premium" vehicle, something of an oxymoronic phrase. But I guess it somehow makes sense, since in recent years Acura has been selling more than 70,000 of the cars annually in the United States, making it the financial backbone of the company.

And though Acura officials at the press launch for the TL repeatedly referred to the ``sinister styling" of the Type-S, it is also subtle and elegant, with its broad slits of headlights, fog lights dropped into the lower fascia, a mesh grille bisected by a chrome crossbar, and a pronounced hipline running front to rear.

Actually, Acura has always been subtle. For example, only the rear ward flip of a spoiler, hot-looking wheels, and awesome-sounding quad tailpipes give any outer hint of what lurks beneath and inside the Type-S.

Inside, stainless steel pedals in the Type-S differentiate it from the base model, as do firmly bolstered, multi seamed bucket seats and carbon fiber treatments.

But safety is what Honda/Acura has been about (and look for the Koreans to push them into making stability control systems standard in even lesser models). The TL comes with antilock brake system, brake assist, stability control, air bags for front and side, and front and rear curtain air bags, as well as a front-end crash system that sends the force of an impact below and over the cockpit .

You also get an array of standard comfort features that include a moonroof, 17-inch wheels, speed-sensitive wipers, heated power front seats , a pass-through rear center armrest, and an advanced audio system.

The Type-S comes with better wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, carbon-fiber interior trim, noise cancellation, and other goodies.

The TL, in both forms, is meant to compete with the BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G35 cars, Mercedes C-Class, and Lexus ES 330. In both performance and interior quality it achieves that goal.

I love the E90 325i, but I voted for the B7 2.0T Audi A4 - I just have a thing for that body style, with the 2.0T .

Soo let me see, a $100,000 income (less than 5% of the population) qualifies one to drive an entry level premium car? Ive always thought the income stats on drivers of certain cars are biased towards the higher incomes...I figure its skewed because people with lesser incomes are less likely to respond to the survey.
