Minor and major problems

I'm having slight annoying problems with my 05.

- The steering wheel squeaks when it is coming down during hot weather, something it never did before.

- The door squeaks when opening and closing (probably needs oil), its annoying bc my 98 accord never did that, no matter how old it got.

- The passenger vanity mirror light goes on and off, might be a short in the wire.

Some major problems i'm having

- alignment is definitely screwy, when i brake at 50mph, the whole steering wheel starts shaking and the car drifts to the right if i straighten out the steering wheel.

Are any of these covered under the warranty?

The vibration when braking at speed is a brake/rotor problem, not alignment. The fact the car tends to go to one side during braking is also a brake/rotor problem. An alignment problem that would have that much effect during braking would also be noticable when not braking.

Sadly, braking problems (and alignment, as well) are considered 'wear' items that are expected to require maintenance at intervals, and are normally only warranted for 12 months, 12K miles.

The passenger vanity mirror light short (or switch malfunction) should be covered under the 3 year/36K mile warranty.

The door squeaking has to be a lubrication problem that is easily remedied. It may be that your Accord had lubrication applied to the door hinges during oil changes, but someone is skipping this during your Maxima oil changes.

If you get your oil changed by the dealer, I would take this to him and complain. If you have your oil changes elsewhere, it is incumbent on you to lubricate the door hinges regularly. And there is a lubricant designed for this; 3-in-1 oil is not satisfactory.

I think I have read of the steering wheel squeak somewhere earlier on this forum. If your dealer is one who cares about his customers, he will fix this under warranty.

Sounds like the shaking problem while braking might be that your rotors are warped and need to be replaced. This happend to me already.
