Problems with 07 Spoiler on 04 with lip spoiler

Alright my worst fears have come true, I removed the lip spoiler and test mounted the 07 spoiler and, guess what? We have holes. Ok all you fellow 6th geners how do we go about resolving this issue. I'm open to suggestions. I will get this thing mounted one way or another. Do we go with a patch kit and some body filler. Let me know your ideas.

I'm crying on the inside.

you didnt know there were holes there?
best thing to do is to take it to a body shop and let them fill it in and paint it.
ghetto way of doing it is electrical tape. red electrical would match your car the best. lol

Well it was stated about 3 times in the other thread that there were holes. I guess you didnt believe those people? That sucks though, hit up a bodyshop and have em filled and the trunk lid repainted.

Maybe you can find a trunk lid from a junk yard without the spoiler option and use it. Might be cheaper than what a body shop wiould charge for the paint and work.

You can go to home depot and find some lil plastic plugs that would fit and paint em with touch up paint but it would be ghetto and prolly look bad. This is the reason I havent bought one of these wings yet. Its not only 300 for the wing but prolly 200-300 to fill the holes, repaint the trunk, and mount the wing.

Looks like it's not the same spoiler that's in UNFADEABLE MAX'S thread http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=490146, his is wider at the bottom and goes down the below the radius

Its the same spoiler, I got it from the same guy. There is more of the spoiler below the brake light, you just can't see it good in the photot because of the red color of the light and car.

Joe this is not a bad idea. Install red blinking led's and hook them up to the break lights. Just a thought.

This has been discussed before, but when I removed my lip spoiler and installed my WRX spoiler, I had the body shop fill in the holes. They did a crappy job unfortunately so Ill have to have it redone. But, that is the solution to the "hole" problem.

It's hard to see the edges in the dark. I really can't see the lense cover on the lights either. I'm sure it's the same just the lighting.

I might have a solution, I'm thinking about laying the spoiler right on top of the lip. I tried it out today and it looks good. When I get home I will take a pic so that I can get your valued opnions.

Well, this new bigger lip spoiler looks very good on the max... nice addition. But please, don't install both. Just buy another trunk lid on a junkyard or something...

I vote just the 07 spoiler only, have holes filled and paint.

PS, just curious, how did you remove the OEM spoiler???

Not easy, unbolted it then used a hair dryer to soften the 3M tape.

have a shop weld small plates to the inside of your trunk where the holes are. then bring it to a body shop to fill it and paint it. i had a shop fill a hole and after 2 years the spot caved in because someones pointy elbow leaned right on the fill.

More pics. Not sure about the look. I would probably buy another trunk lid.
Sure is a nice spoiler.
