Brake Fluid
I'm in the same boat, since I will be putting on SS lines and will probaly put in new fluid as well. My guess would be when you take the old lines off jsut let them run till they are dry. But that's just my guess. Also....does anyone have a recommendation for "better" brake fluid?

The old days, I did the same way Tek-Niq suggested. Nowadays I let the pros do the job. My mechanic warns me about modern cars with pressurized ABS system. It's no longer simple as abc. I just let the man take care of it when it need new pads (no not those pads...). He only charges an extra $20 and will supervise that step himself to make sure the apprentice doesn't mess it up.

The man happens to be my friend of a friend. He's a Nissan master mechanic but will do all if needed. His regular fees for brakes:
* $45: change pads, +$35: machine rotors, pads: $50-$60
* Fluid change: $20
The guy wouldnot do anything that you don't need. If the thing is under warranty or recall then he lets you know. He pin-pointed the bad injector in my brother's '99GXE while the dealer wanted big $$$ for all six. it's great to live in Orange County, you have a shop every block (close...). But it's great to know a reliable mechanic.

That's what I did with my other cars but have you taken a look at the Maxima's brake fluid reservoir?

I tried the turkey baster but with no luck. I think there's also a dirt collecting mesh because I tried pushing a silicone tube into the reservoir to suck out the fluid but it just wouldn't go past the small opening.
I replaced my front calipers with 300zx calipers and replaced my front lines with SS lines. Bleeding the brakes is like with any other brake system. You start from the FURTHEST caliper and bleed that, and go to the next furthest, until you are done. In order it is RR, LR, RF,LF.
Actually I have my rear SS lines coming, so Ill be doing this again shortly.
