TAZ u fakker, where is the Pic of you standing on it, I had to lay on the dirt to take that one!!!! HAHAHAH, 200lbs?? Dont you mean 220?? Anywhoo, yesterday I changed my oil, and I wanted to see something.

So i placed my hands on the support brace just over the passenger headlight. Then I pressed down with all my weight (220lbs) on the corner of the car. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THE FRONT OF THE TOWER LEAN FORWARD and INWARD. Now this is with the BAR OFF, so anywhoo, the same test done while test fitting the bar, resulted in 0 Strut tower flex.

Thease little mods really do add up at the end.

15mm will make it really tight. it may still fit but you will definetly need atleast my MMI's for the VQ if not solid mounts to stop the engine from rocking.

Replacing motor mounts is not an easy job -- like bolting on a strut-tower brace. This would put a whole "nother" light on this modification.

I thought the whole idea was to reduce the flexing of the strut-towers.

He has an spacer on his manifold, that is why he would need inserts. The spacer raises the manifold enough that if a strut bar were used they would most likely interfere with each other cause of the amount of movement the engine has. MMI's (motor mount inserts) fill the voids in your stock mounts to reduce excessive movement of the engine.

Thanks, taz. So much of what came before your explanation was "Greek" and abreviations that did not make sense to those of us who did not know this fact. Statements like: "MMI new therad BIOTCHES" -- what the hell does that mean?

you mean with the spacer/strut bar combo?, I really don't know, it's not something I have tested for. But I'd say the RACE versions are safer. Assuming there is room in general for both. Will teh spacer for sure fit teh FWD VQ engine? I'm pretty sure the manifolds are different between the RWD/FWD

AS you know the prototype is a perfect fit on my car and has been sent for production. I know TAZ is busy as heck getting it done.... keep patient guys its coming, please understand it takes about 30 days to get the first batch, after which it should take no longer then a few days for consecutive batches as the machine is already prepped for the job.

Taz want to chime in?
