New Corner lights

Ok, I'm almost done. I'll post finished pics later. I took out the corner lights and put in new ones, Angel Eyes. I found a set that looks just like oem. Except now I control them at all times. For now I only have the Rings wired. I need to run a seperate wire for the H3's.

Could you please post a link to where you got them? Are they a perfect fit ? Also, how hard was the wiring?

Got mine from Ebay ....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290048157935

You can find them here too.......... http://www.autobarn.net/opaney.html

4" seems to be a perfect fit. The mounting is crazy. If you can take off the bumper than do it. I got under the wheel well with a flash light. It sits flush like the stock light did but not perfect. It sits out held by the stock bracket. I need to fill in around the edges so it won't move.

Wiring is simple but I did pay someone to drill thru the fire wall. I zip tied the factory wire and took the 3156 out. I Put the switch next to the buttons on the dash. The wire kit has the led ring and H3 on the same switch. I wanted independent control so I'll use a seperate switch.

My choices were limited to what looked like the oem corner light. Putting anything else there wouldn't look so good.

So are you going to have the main light turn on when you turn or just when you want? Seems weird to have that bright of a light pointing out to the sides. The halo looks cool though, nice work!

Thanks, I really just wanted the Halo effect. I can just tap into the stock wire on each side and then ground. The main H3 light should function like the concerning lights. Unless I can find a H3 bulb that lights up and does not project out.

Pics of the rear so we can see how they are mounted. Any ideas for getting them to attach more securely? I'd be concerned if they rattle around in the hole.

I'll have to crawl under there and take a pic. I used 3m double sided tape to hold the lense in place. It won't fall out and it won't fall in but without the 3m tape it would move around.

Looks better than I expected. When it gets dark I'll take pics off the driveway.

True, It's hard to see the ring but I'm sure at night it will show up better in the pictures. The stock light has a white foggy look and these are optical like the headlights.

It would be cool if there was a special mounting bracket that would reorient the cornering lights straight forward to act like an extra set of fog lights. This angel eye setup would look really nice by actually functioning as fog lights IMO.

well i don't know that shyt is madd hott and it gave me a great idea...you think of connecting the halo portion of the light to the fog? and the regular light leave stock...? meaning when you turn the turn signal on...the center light comes on. buh when the fogs get turned on the rings come on. don't know how that goin to loook though...i'm still tryin to find someone to do the electrical work for me...around here.

They are flush. The lense is bubble shaped. The stock lense is flat. Scratches, which picture? If it's the first pics I posted then what you see is a reflection of tools paper and a pillow on the ground.

You can do that too. I have a switch for the halo's . I'll use the main bulbs with the turn signals.

That is the Halo's lighted only. I did not connect the main bulbs. They are brighter as you go to the side but two Halo's in the front bumper would appear brighter.

I did a search and found that some of the 5th Gens have installed the same 2500 series.

How does your Halo's look from far away? Can you see them better up close. I really never noticed Angel eyes until a car is right behind me or in the opposite lane passing.

Sure, a hid H3 kit might work. Or you could find a bulb that comes close to HID. I would have hooked them up but then you have to aim them correctly. You don't have to aim Halo rings.

Yes! Exactly the same concept, but a special bracket that would be retrofitted onto stock bumper to direct the corner lights forward. It would be a cheap alternative as opposed to buying a whole new bumper. Plus can u still purchase the bumper you have? I heard these bumpers are out of production, I could be wrong.

Update

For those who wanted to see the main lights on without the Halo...............

I'm at work and took pics with my Camera phone. Even though the lights are on the side. The bumper angles the light front side. Not completely to the side of the car. You can see the pattern on the ground. The light spreads on the ground no higher than the curb in both lanes. No one flashed me, so I would would assume its ok. I wired both the main and halo to a two way switch. First Position is for the Halo and position two is for the H3's. the harness won't allow both at the same time.

Hella 2500 lights. I posted two links on page 1. Between $54-$60 bucks. Stock corner light has the 3156 bulb pointed straight up in the case. Replaced with Hella driving lights, these use H3 bulbs like the fog lights.
