I had the other BOSCH something EDGE and they were the worst pair I had every used. I use my wipers nearly every day, change every 6 months and buy the cheap ones. Recently I bought driver's side Rain-X, piece of shi-t!

BTW. Wiping your wipers with rubbing alcohol once in a while extends their life span.

You all should have checked my thread about www.tirerack.com blowout of the Valeo ultimate wiper for $19.99 a PAIR. Posted in General Maxima discussion...but they are sold out, maybe more will come in at that price?

Couple of sites to check out. These ain't your daddy's wipers. They look cool too, check 'em out. It did rain this evening and they worked great, plus there isn't any place for snow and ice to get stuck in so it should be streak-free driving this winter.

I still strongly feel that claims found at the first link are bogus with capital B. (Intel used to advertise that Hyper-Threading was the best thing in the world, untill they came out with duo core and admitted that it's piece of sh-T) The problem I, and most any driver, always get with the wipers is not the even pressure along the edge of the wipers but tiny notches in the wiper's contact edge. The graph showing the conventional blade is highly exaggerated as there is a steel re-bar (2 steel reinforcing strips) along the rubber blade. There is no way that the pressure is so uneven.

Let's be logical for a minute. When you buy cheap new blades (any blades), do they wipe your windsheld good? YES THEY DO. There is no way that the steel reinforcement would bend out of shape and apply strong pressure just at the points where the blade is held by its holding brackets. It's the rubber that gets f-cked. Take your old wipers out and run your nail over it...see for yourself. Its the sand and other particles that get trapped under the rubber that deform the factory-perfect edge. You ask where does the sand come from...Its all over your car. The minute you start the wipers to clean your windshield you drag these particles along the surface of your windshield and they get trapped between the glass and the rubber. Even if you spray your windshield with washer fluid, the wipers start moving before the sand is carried away with it.

As stated previously, I have bought BOSCH blades in the past with some micro-graphite edge or something and my opinion still stands THEY SUCK !!!

As to these guys, I will give them a try at next change. WE'LL SEE. I bet it will be a complete waste of money.

for the bosch icons...
like xoomer i was a little skeptical about spending som much money for wiper blades, spent $52, but not in 11 years of my driving experience have I seen a wiper blade work so well

but it is all in the eye of the beholder, and if you don't want your max to have the best, than buy cheap blades

I just bought a pair of Icons as well. I first bought a pair for my wifes '06 Xterra and couldnt believe how well they worked, cool they looked, and the thought of no place for snow/rain to freeze. For those that live in an area of heavy snow or freezing rain, know what its like to have frozen wipers driving down the highway.

I just picked up a pair at Autozone where they were buy one get one 50% off. Total was like $35 for the pair. Took me all of 30 seconds to put both on. Of course, it hastn rained since I bought them.

* Pending my evaluation he he. The most expensive is not always the best

As to my max, I put the great gas (BP-93) great oil (mobile 1 synthetic) great oil filter (mobil 1) etc, because I know it works, NOT because it costs more.

Lets stick to "GREAT" and NOT "THE BEST"
