Got the new rims today

Finally bought them, but unfortunately its about 10 degrees here and we have been getting snow...so they are going into hibernation until march. Couldnt resist atleast putting them NEAR the car to get an idea...but im sick and not up to the task of swapping all 4 with the jack to see how it looks and assure they are balanced correctly. I ended up buying a set of contiprocontacts a/s bc we got socked with a storm 4 days ago, so the tires are brand new on the stock rims too...and the contis drive beautifully. I noticed they used a fancy looking hunter balancer, must have been the difference bc the slight shimmy at 60 is completely gone...if this new set isnt perfect thats where ill go to get them balanced.
This set only cost me $1087 shipped, thats only $300 more than the contis cost...Im happy with the purchase from the looks of them

Theres like TWO weights on these rims, there were so many on the stock wheels when I had the F1s on that I couldnt even count, something like 15+

As far as weight, thay are 56Lbs, same as stock...so the wheel is 1" wider with no weight penalty, im happy with that.

Nice... I like 'em! Reminds me of the black center/polished rim wheels I put on my black '87 SE. Totally changed the look of the car.

Thanks for the comments, Ive always liked the black car/black rims with chrome lip look. Maybe I will finish it off with an active tuning grille in the summer.

They are 18x8.5, tires are stock size, 245/45/18, offset 35.

I like the look... but I noticed that they are about 1 inch taller than the stock wheels, isn't that going to cause a problem with the speedo?

Thats bc they aren't mounted, when they are, the weight of the car will compress the tire to the ground enough to bring it down like the ones currently on the car.

Maybe you shoulda gone with a bigger rim, the Max will make those look small. But nice choice in color - black with polish lip ftw.

I think 18" is plenty big for this car, i wanted to keep a "tuner" look, 20" loses that. I would have went 19" if they were available for this rim but they werent.

I had 19's on my SL, but after months of driving on NYC roads decided to go down to 18's and couldn't be happier.

Not to steal the post. I just bought rims 18 x 9. According to BFGoodrich, the G-Force tire 245/45/18 should fit on rims widths from 7.5-9. Has anyone done this or is 245 not wide enought for 9" wide rim?

Please help, I want to put them rims on ASAP.

You'll be fine, they will look low profile, all that means is the side wall will be tucked inwards more.

They looked so nice yesterday night, then this morning it poured and its still raining, but you get the idea

Overall Im really happy with them, but the spline lugs were a PITA to install and the black can easilly be chipped by a careless mechanic...so looks like im always going to have to take these on and off.

Im not lowering the car, so save it...the flash on the camera exaggerates the appearence of the front gap!
