Buying 2007 Max... what did you pay??

Hey guys,
I am trading in the 2000 Max for a 2007 SE or SL in Sonoma Sunset with Blonde Leather interior. I want to know what some of you have paid for your 2007 Maximas. I know that there is $1000 cash back right now. Please tell as much info as you can... this will help me and others. Thanks!!!

scew that... get a 07 Sentra....

j/k

the price all depends on what you want in your car. Leather, chrome wheels, Satalite Radio, NAV, Memory seats and stearing wheel...

Plan on spending 36K for a nice equipped Max.

Well, I got my 05 SE Majestic Blue Maxima for 28,500 plus taxes. It has everything but Navi, chrome and sunroof wind deflector. I am not paying 36k for a Maxima... I am doing serious homework as you can see since it is 1:15am in Texas...yee haw!!! Any help is appreciated.

I paid...

approx $32K (incl. tax) for my 07. That was the SE with Driver Preferred Package (Leather, Bose, Autodim mirrors, power passenger seat, heated seats and steering wheels).

No buyer's regret yet, but that's just me.

Dark Slate SE
Black Leather
Driver Preferred Package
Sunroof
Splash Guards
Floor & Trunk Mats

Mine is leased, but the capitalized cost was $30,218 vs $30,518 invoice vs $33,615 MSRP.

$300 under invoice was pretty wild for one of the first four '07s off the truck in Charlotte. I had already politely walked away from some ridiculous prices quoted by the dealer, but at 8pm on June 30th I got a phone call from the dealer that they were two cars short of making their monthly Nissan sales incentive numbers and that they would sell me the car for $300 under if I did it that night. Left the dealership at midnight with the car.

On top of the good deal on the '07, they also liked my '03 lease return so much that they bought it out from NMAC, which saved me a few hundred dollars in excess mileage charges I faced had I just turned it back to NMAC. It was a good deal for all... they sold the '03 on the used car lot two days later for $3500 over the lease buyout.

Sounds promising jcalabria... I have a couple of dealerships e-mailing me about prices... so far the best is $28,882 for an SL plus TTL... I am thinking this looks good so far. I am getting her to e-mail me a scanned copy of the sticker... They pre-tint the windows so the sticker is already off of the window.

Anyone else?? In Texas perhaps?

If you go to nissanusa.com you can select a dealer and view their inventory with VINs, exact equipment specs and MSRP pricing. Always better to request your quote on a specific vehicle so there is no misunderstandings or shenanigans.

Base equipped SL has $30,915 MSRP and $28,321 invoice. Does the SL you're interested in have any options? If you know exact equipment configuration you can price out at kbb.com.

In Atlanta, most dealers are advertising base '07 SEs at around $24,640 to $24,660. In Georgia, a dealer has to have more than one in stock at that price before being allowed to advertise it, and the stock numbers are listed in the ads.

You probably aren't interested in a base SE, but you could subtract that price from the MSRP of base SEs and come up with an amount by which most dealers should (if you persist) be willing come off MSRPs of any '07 Maxima you may choose.

Isn't the base price for an '07 SE right at $28,000? If so, I would feel you should be able to wrangle any '07 Maxima for $3,500 below MSRP.

Personally, I like to deal with invoice prices. At this time (the '07s have been out around half a year), one should be able to get down to invoice on the '07s with most dealers; slightly under as we near the end of the month.

I have an 07 SL Elite / Non-Nav and the sticker was just above $34,000. I got it at just a little over $31, like $31,200 before TT&L.

07' Max is my first.

I love this car so much that I looked for a forum to see what others thought
about the 07'. I bought a Radiant Silver Se(The spoiler, rims and tires sold me on it) The car is gorgeous. I got the driver preferred package and the power sunroof. The sticker was $33,625.00. MSRP was $28,050.00. Before tax, tags and warranty, I got my price down to $29,300.00. That included the $1000.00
rebate. I pitted about 4 dealers against each other and used the numbers against each of them. Heres a tip. If you know anyone who works for a Nissan dealer, ask them to find out if there are any manufacturer to dealer incentives so you know that the dealer is lying when they tell you that they are losing money.

I just traded in a 2000 SE and purchased an 07 three weeks ago.

My 2000 had 166,000 miles on it so I only got $5000 for it. I was content with that as it was blue booked at 5489.00 and with the tax break I came out ok.

The 07 I got is an SE , Winter Frost, driver preferred pkg, sensory pkg, premium audio and navigation. I added chromed Nissan 18" wheels and the car stickered for 37,565.00 . I paid 33,500 for the car before the trade in.

I will say that this car is allot nicer than the 2000 SE I had. I loved my 2000, but I will say I have no regrets about turning it in for the 07. The CVT takes some getting used to but it can be fun.

I probably paid about 500- 1000 more than I wanted, but the car sold itself.

let me know how it goes.

I just leased an 07 Majestic Blue SL with Driver Preferred, Carpet Mats, Mudguards, and All-Season Mats for 29,702 (below invoice i think). MSRP was 32,585. The $1k customer cash did not apply. The lease terms were 24mo/12k, .00167 MF, and 68% residual.

This is my first Max and I'm very excited to have it. Also just joined the forum and looking forward to many many hours of threading!

Ok, I bought a 2007 Sonoma Sunset SL with DPP, leather, spoiler, tint and sunroof for $30,180 after the rebate. I feel it was a fair deal, and after doing a dealer search there wasn't another Sonoma Sunset SL with black leather and the options I wanted in this area... the closest one was in Louisiana... so for at least a week my car has been unique. Thanks for all of the input from all of you. I got $5000 for my GLE max with 129k miles on it which was perfect since I traded it in at night, so the used car guy didn't notice the blemishes that the car was riddled with. I had a lot of bad luck with that car... oh well. I LOVE my new Maxima....

And, the CVT is a trip. It's kinda like a roller coaster to drive it since you just go and you don't feel any hiccups of the gears changing... I will have to change my signature to show off the new car.

My 07 pricing

07 SE loaded minus NAV was 29500, MSRP was like 33800-34k somewhere. Think I got a good deal. Happy

Congrats on your purchase.

Since everybody has different options, I just use the price over invoice to compare good deals (instead of comparing the price of one person's base Max to another fully loaded and everything in between). I bought mine for $200 over invoice. I found a dealer who would give me the invoice price but they were 45 minutes away and I didn't feel like going all that way for $200.

For anybody else thinking about a car, use price they dealer paid (at least what's published about what they paid) which is invoice minus holdback. Bargain from that price, not MSRP. When I bought, there was like a $500 holdback so I gave them a $700 profit buying it $200 over invoice. You can bargain that (or probably even better now) all day by going straight to the manager.

I've got a quick question about the CVT on my new Max. I apologize as I would create a new thread, but due to my newbie status, I cannot create new threads yet. Please do not flame me too bad for posting this in "not the appropriate" thread!

In the 07 Max brochure, it states the CVT has 3 different modes - performance, normal, and economy I believe. How are those modes changed and what is the difference? Thanks a ton and I love my new car!!

Since there is no mention of it in the manual and there is no control device of any type, my conclusion is that there are three different shift maps stored for the tranny that are called upon according to how you are driving the car at any given moment. If anybody knows otherwise I'd like to hear, too.

Good Luck, BTW.

Just bought a 07 and I paid right around 31k. It's a SL with every option but Nav plus I got the warranty out to 6 yrs/75,000. I'm military so they said they were giving me the same discount employees get. Who knows if that was true or not. If you want exact figures I can get my papers and get you exact numbers.

I own an 04 6 speed SE and am currently driving a brand new 07 G35X. After driving both of these cars, I can honestly tell you while I like the G35, it is boring compared to the max, and the max WILL out handle the G. FWD or not. I can take turns very hard in the max and if I take the same exact turns in the G it falls on its face.

Hi,
I'm in the market for a '07 Maxima SE w/ Sensory Package. Got quoted from at least 2 dealers at $2100 below invoice (that's $600 below + $1500 current incentive rebate). Is that a good deal? I think it is, but since I got these offers so easy (just by emails and no haggle) it makes me wonder whether I'm still paying more than I need to. Any advices are much appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds good. When I bought mine, there was like a $600 or so dealer holdback. So, unless there is a Nissan marketing incentive or increased dealer holdback, it would appear you're getting the car at cost. I doubt they aren't going to make money on the car, especially without haggling, so there is probably another dealer incentive somewhere. In any event, you might possibly be able to get it cheaper, by finding out what other incentives they're using, but I think that is a damn good deal considering...and probably lower than most people pay. Of course, if there is a $1500 regional incentive, for instance, you could be paying lower.

For $14 bucks at Consumer Reports (http://www.consumerreports.org/main/.../aps_home.jsp), you can find out all that info (dealer holdback, regional incentives, etc.) to find out what you should be paying. I don't buy a car without it.

How was your experience going through a Costco authorized dealer? I setup an appointment for Tuesday evening with a Costco dealer and will find out what they are trying to let a fully loaded 07 SL go for. Through my experience with two other dealers I feel I can get an SL w/ NAV for around 28k. Hopefully before the 1500 cash back is worked in.

I liked going thru costco. It was no haggle on the price but they due try to sell you the extened warrenty and any after market like THE PROTECTOR products for interior and exterior and claim you get it at the Costco price also. I did get after market tires and rims for 1,700 and extended warrenty.Car price was like 28,000 with out the after stuff. No complaints
