Upgrading Brakes
Alright, I am looking to upgrade my front brakes, rotors/calipers/pads....not looking to go super high performance, just want an upgrade from oem. Any suggestions of what to look at that offers complete kits that will work with 2004 Maximas and where to find it? Thanks.

You've mentioned brakes/calipers/pads so I'd recommend these. They are to be found at fastbrakes.com. They have an upgrade for $1500, $1200, $890 and $590, whatever fits your budget.

You can also get the 300ZX brakes from the front. I believe it is a 4POT caliper. Few people have installed these and say that they are amazing! And it's pretty much like buying a BBK, but for about $600
I personally just got zinc plated RTP rotors and Hawk HPS pads and SS brake lines all around and love the braking of them. They work a little better once heated though. Still you can't go wrong with my combo...imo

Finally Bought brakes, but now .....
I finally got everything I've been looking for, for the past two months! Importrp.com had Brembo rotors in stock. They were the only ones!
I got the HawkHPS Street Performance pads for both front and rear along with the Brembo rotors for both front and rear.
Now I have a question? Is it worth me installing them myself? I heard it wasn't too hard to install them myself and I don't care about paying for the installation because it is the only other way. I'd rather save money thoguh, so does anyone know and tell me if this is a stupid idea or not, if I could install them myself using the car jack, or one maybe a little better from say Sears or something like that????
Please help me out here I would really appreciate it and I'm looking for the most inexpensive way, but also the safest and the best way!!...The guy at the shop said brakes are at about $140 for an hr and a half...
thanks

what ever floats your boat. If you're a hands on guy then do it yourself and sears has a combo of 2 stands and 1 jack for I believe $24.99! And it isn't all that time consuming, but when you do the rear rotors make sure to have a big hammer or big piece of wood to bang the s*** out of it so it pops off!
Also, make sure to do one side at a time, because if you take 2 calipers off and compress one of them, then the other one will most likely pop out! = not good and new caliper time!
You might as well get a c-clamp to compress the piston's back in, which should run you about $10-20.
Other than that, all you need is metric wrenches and you're set!
hope this helps

oh, and use that big piece of wood to "break" the nuts on the calipers if they are being stubborn. Put the wrench on the bolt, and turn the wheel all the way to the left or right and wack the crap out if it...just make sure you don't miss!
good luck
