07 spoiler

hey, i have q for the ones that did this swap. i know the ones that have the 04-06 lip spoiler, there are 3 bolts that hold it on and when removed, the holes will show. i talked to the dealership and they said that the 07 wing spoiler for teh 07 should be able to cover up the holes. i am trying to find pix to see how much of the holes would show. thanks, brian

what i have heard the 07 holes are different so if u have the lip spoiler you will need to get them covered and repaint the trunk

For this situation, since most (if not all) of the holes will be covered, you simply have to fill the holes and you can actually use touch up paint to cover them up. Several people do that with pretty good results and since it'll be covered anyway it shouldn't matter. Good luck

I went to Advance Autozone... They have those *HELP* clips , it was acutally a Nissan Clips.. they fit perfectly and I used black silicone so no water can get in.

The clips look perfect there , looks like rear sonora but on the truck and not in the bumper

07 spoiler definatly looks better than the lip spoiler. I installed a 07 on my 05 car.

Installation is a little tricky on 04-05 models. There is no easy access to the metal sheet on which you have to put the spoiler on. YOu will have to drill a hole through the polished surface( the truck lid) and then on another sheet on the inside of the truck lid.

The spoiler makes the trunck lid heavy and it closes with much more force.

Go to service dept.

Just ordered a 3rd brake light "area cover" for a 07 Maxima. Now that the Maxima has the lighted spoiler option, Nissan made a cover to go over the hole for dealers when adding the spoiler option. The 07 Altima also has this cover but a different size. Part#'s depend on interior color. Cost $24 bucks and I'm waiting for the order.

Not yet, still on order. I asked three different dealers and no one knew what I was talking about but they all knew about the 07 altima cover. I figured nissan must have made this cover for the 07 Maxima's too. Found one dealer/parts dept. and he knew what I was talking about. The part # he gave me is for my interior color but it did not work on Nissanparts web site.

Just call your local Nissan dealer and tell them you need the 3rd break light cover for a 07 Maxima. Tell them your interior color.

Yeah, it covers the hole after you unplug and remove the light.

I just had it done on my 2007 maxima. It looks clean. I will shoot a pic and upload tomorrow. A benefit is the improved visibility from the removal of the brake light. The spoiler is not visible from the rear from mirror so it doesn't diminish the visibility.

Not true ! you can see in the pics above that it clips right into the hole and sits perfectly. Some parts dept. will ask for your vin# because they never heard of this cover. The only thing they know to say is well "the 07 cover won't fit the 04-06 max". The third break light on the rear deck has not changed.

I just ordered a black one. It comes in 3 colors: black, frost or camel. Cost is $31, special order, and takes 2-3 business days to get. Mine's coming in Thursday.

Yes, the hot wire to the Maxima brake light is green/red and the ground is black. I bought red and black wire and hooked the red wire to the hot Maxima wire and then connected it to the hot spoiler wire which I believe was green/yellow on the WRX spoiler. I also believe the ground on the WRX spoiler was black. I have noticed that people behind me seem more responsive to my brakelights.

I ordered mine from the Nissan dealership. They did ask me for the VIN. I told the guy to look at the 07 parts because it probably wouldn't work with my 06 VIN. He ended up finding it after searching his database. The part # and description on my invoice says: "999J1-MTPSK PARCEL SHELF CH"

Not sure if that will help your dealership track it down. Cost me $26.

I got my 07 spoiler in tonight, and the ebay seller did not give me the template or the installation instructions (he has been emailed and asked for a quick ship of the template). I know how to install it without the video thanks to the other threads, but can anyone tell me if there is a way to install it accurately without having a template? I want to install it this weekend, and I dont know if dude will ship it to me that quickly.

I slightly bent over one of the clips on the cover. The cover clipped into the hole but rounded up, So I carefully bent one of the metal clips and it sits flat.
