Opinions on CE- y pipes

What is the final opinion on these. I've read some good some bad, most of the bad opinions was refuted well but I want to know here in one thread, do you guys like / recommend them.

Reason I ask is I know CE is bankrupt, and I have access to their y pipes from the company who was making it for them. This company has offered the stock of y pipes to me at very reasonable prices. Before I buy them I need to know if you guys would actually want them.

post away

You and Cattman should coordinate, he is looking to do the same thing. I bought a used one and like it. Decent build quality nice sound, no buzzing, and it definitely has less restriction in it.

what is he suggesting price wise? I have not seen him post anything, and I have not talked to him in a few weeks.

Racingline would likely sell them for approx $160usd

I paid $200 shipped when they had a "sale" a little while back. I feel that it does give a nice gain with my iother mods. I see the speedo climb faster with it.

Taz, I'd buy one from you for sure. Like every other 6th gen goodie you've put to market!

The only reason I didn't get one is that they would only ship by courier and it made the landed cost here in Canada to high. Otherwise I would have bought with the group deal at $200USD when it was going.

CAI is a tad louder when the second throttle plate opens up. More low end torque. Pulls more.

Noticed a few water droplets dripping from the Y welding when engine is warming up. Could be my fault. I am on Eibach and primary muffler now slightly scrapes the ground on occasion.

But, once you look at the OEM Y-pipe, and see the crimp choking the pipe down to one inch, you'll get this Y-pipe. Has one less CAT.

Taz should add instructions. My mechanic hated the install. The OEM Y has 2 flex sections making the removal easy but the new Y is solid and you may need to loosen up one CAT to install. Lots of WD40. I still recommend especially if in the $160-200 range.

I have had mine for awhile and have had no problem with hit. No buzzing noise.

It's not a throttle plate, it's in the IM.

Relies on RPM reading rather than TP.

Yours is solid? Mine has a flex section, easy to install. They didn't supply the 2 bolts to the exhaust pipe though, had to dig through the junk pile for some.

Would these be the same exact design, or slightly re-designed for better performance?

I would buy one as well, depending on how the Cattman header development goes. (if I get on board with them or not)

is it any louder with the Y-pipe? I would like to get one but I am trying to quiet down the car. I need to get a stock resonator cause I put a turbo one on and now it is too loud and I never kept the stock one. Maybe i should ge a y-pipe too though. Anyone have a stock resonator?

I believe the CE y-pipe adds very little sound..

The CE y-pipe did not make my car louder but I still have the OEM resonator.

$180 Shipped to anywhere in the usa. P.O. , Alaska, hawaii, pr, apo, etc pm me first before sending payments.

payments can be sent to sales@racinglineperformance.com

pm me if you wish to pay by CC or MO. I have 04+ auto, 04+ manual AND 95-98federal all. YOU MUST SPECIFY AUTO OR MANUAL for 04+.

This is not a GD or sale. I am simply helping the manufacturer unload them. Once they are gone they are gone, I highly doubt I'll pick up the product line and sell them as a racingline stock item.

As I mentioned in my PM to Taz, somebody please confirm that the 4AT requires the 6MT y-pipe...

Can people voice their opinions again...is this mod worth it and can you "feel" the power, and picture yourself as an elderly person...would the sound of this y-pipe annoy the crap out of you? I ask that because the parentals don't want to hear my car from a few blocks away. I would consider the Cattman headers/cat-back, but once again have heard numerous things stating that the cat-back provides a "drone" while cruising and headers just speak for themselves...LOUD

Main questions:
Is it worth the money?
Are there noticable power gains?
Is a lot of low-end comprimised for the top-end?
And is it noticably loud?

thanks guys!
Dan

Oh and Taz, how many of these are still available?

It did so for me. SES light came on - P0171, P0173. I had to modify my MAF sensor (see pic below). Otherwise an Apexi AFC controller would have worked to correct the A/F mixture. I also use 93 octane (has 10% ethanol here).

Note: After I added my CAI, I would see P0300 code (multi cylinder misfire) on occasions but SES light never came on.

Correct. My parts list shows the 4AT and 6MT with same y-pipe part number.

so adding the y-pipe is "bad" for the motor unless you get it tuned?

maybe for the ppl that do not use premium, it might cause it to lean out a little bit. tuning it will make the most power overall.

Is this an option for the 5spd Auto Trans?

Edit:
And yes (below) thanks for telling me to read, I re-read and saw where it was mentioned.

There is a pipe for all transmissions. 4AT, 5AT, and 6MT. 6MT & 4AT use the same pipe

Sweet, got mine on order and looking forward to the addition of it to my vehicle.

Can anyone give feedback on combining this mod with the Fujita intake and how that effects the air / fuel system as a whole.

Also, does the y-pipe alone make the car louder?

Mine is in Ohio on it's way to Cali. I talked to my mechanic yesterday and we're going to install it next week hopefully along with a new resonator and straight pipe to the mufflers!!
Can't wait!!
Thanks Taz!

Wait for a Cattman Y-Pipe

Brian Cattman told me that they are developing a Y-Pipe for the 04+. They are also developing headers too. I'm going to wait on that and then get the Y-Pipe and then at least the Cattman Catback. While I like the sound (literally and figuratively) of headers, I need proof it will pass emissions and won't turn the engine light permanently on before I go for that. Plus, I'm sure that it's no cheap endeavor to put headers on our sideways engines.
