22's for the 05'..really debating on these still!
I couldnt take the picture off the site so here they are
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True
I will have to call them to make sure it has the correct offset and lug pattern but i really think these would look good on the redish color my car is.
What do you all think
YAY or NAY? :attention

I just hope i dont many problems with rubbing...im not too worried about ride quality...but long term damage seems to be ok..so ive been reading from other ppl anyway

Yah, not trying to bag on your rims. It really just comes down to what look you're going for. It seems like half the people on here are going for the tuner look and the other for the classy or "pimp", as I like to call it, look.
#8
Yea Classy or 'Pimp' is what im going for....not crazy ghetto or anything just a little more on the flashy side
245/35R22 would be good right....i know ive been reading that, but wanted to make sure my mind isnt going crazy on me
EDIT: Nevermind...found it in the specs thread....255/30R22.......guess that is the best

Your car will be slower with the 22's. That's not "IN" anymore...The new Big Rim is the Small RIM! Maxima's come with 18" wheels. I know guys that are swapping them for 17"...Smaller rims allow the car to go faster.

But again, personal pref, and I respect your opinion.
I say, do what you wish, after all, u gotta drive it.
I Don't like those 22s.

Then i started thinking about painting the black part the color of my car...because that piece is seperate from the rest of the wheel...so that would make it real easy to paint....
After consideration i might just stick with 20's cuz my car is lowered already and i dont want any rubbing or extra maintenance....then i could have some thicker wheels on top of that

I am a newbie when it comes to having a Maxima and buying wheels. I to are looking to buy 22" wheels for my Max I just bought a week ago. The reason for the 22" idea was inspired by this car:
That car looks sick!!! One of the hottest Max's I have seen so far (IMO) and the only mod it looks to have, are those wheels (it goes to show how a great set of wheels on your car can dramatically change its look from average, to pimped) Those wheels on that Max are: 22" x 9" TSW Carlton's. I was thinking of buying these exact wheels for my "Gold Dust color" Max, or a wheel called U2-35 in all chrome w/a 4" - 6" lip. Yes, I know a lot of you guys can care less about 22" wheels because on the performance negatives, but come-on....you have to hand-it to the guy who choose to put these wheels on his car...it looks great! (IMO).

im running 22x9 with 265/30/22. they rolled the rear fenders and removed the front plastic wheel well liners. was lowered on eibachs but got tired of slowing down when going into driveways and i am at stock ride now. im running toyo proxes 4. they are pretty pricey though. i paid 1200 out the door. i used to have 255/30/22 the nitto 555 but got these toyos when the nittos went bald. people say that 22's slow our max's down and they probably do but from a red light i can still burn rubber through the intersection and some. stock engine. my first pair of 22's i had were 22x8.5 and i was running 245/30/22. when i had this setup there was no rubbing. i didnt roll the fenders till i got 255's.

It's never worth it to sacrifice form over function, but if you're going to be silly about it at least make it worthwhile. =(
Personally I would never go over 18s. Just one kid's opinion, though.

Does anyone actually know what the "performance" hit is? I'm sure their is one, but WHAT exactly does it equate too.... like are there numbers?
Slower acceleration..... by what tenths of what seconds?
Decrease braking.... by how many feet?
Slower 1/4..... by how much?
I'd just like to know.
Let's face it.... not much can be done or bought reasonably (at least no one in the 6th gen is REALLY doing it) to extract that much more "performance" out of it. Unless your the type that .... takes it to the track, i can see your reasoning...
But I my friends, is not that guy. I don't care to dyno nor test my 1/4 mile times. But i'll def go to a car show. Might not win many races (i'm sure the "loss" in performance won't be the reason anyways) but i'll win many trophies for best in show... or for car audio (more weight in the trunk - "loss" in performance again...)
So If he wants to go 22s.... let him! If anything chastise him about his choice (it's the worst 22s i've seen, unless they make the ones u have now in 22s! lol) But enough with the "Your car will be slower" talk, i'm sure w/e thought about 20s/22s all know this!
Let's try to keep it on topic, and stick to what the starter is asking.

There aren't too many cars that you see nowadays with stock 18 inch wheels. Thats big enough. Why get bigger??? If you ask me, that's a perfect compromise between performance and appearance. What are you going to gain by getting a larger tire/wheel??

Why would someone remove the wheel liners..? I bet your motor looks nice.

20" is the new 16" around here... Look around. Theres an awful of cars/trucks coming out of the factory with 20" or bigger.

I actually looked at a few cars like the BMW 3-series sedans and Mercedes on their websites and I couldn't find anything over 18". I'm by no means saying that I think there aren't cars with stock 20"s. However, I don't think there is an awful lot.

^^^i like what you did with your rims with the paint...it takes it down a notch from having too much chrome...well done!
Im still searching rims like i always do, but i liked these alot and just kept them as my first choice but im far from done searching...i think i might just have to do the twenties cuz i dont want to jack up my rim or anything like that cuz im far from rich...although i still like the look of the 22's i think ima stick with the twenties....
Besides there are alot more choices now that i can choose from

my car is also on 22s. 22x9.5 with 255/30/22 nitto tires 35mm offset. Dvinci lox.
I was on coilovers, but now I'm switching to cattman springs and I'm waiting to put them on to see if I rub. I did have to roll the fenders from the get go.
I bought my wheels at the same place of that silver max in NJ. they didn't have a set of 4 of the cartons when I went so I got Dvinci lox.
people hate on 22s, but they look way better on the max vs any other size. you do loose some braking, but the car is still quick. I race people all the time with them.
