350Z track wheels...

...MODS: please leave this in the 6th gen section so that my fellow 6th geners could comment, since not all of them go into the wheels/tires section.

Thanks

Here are some pictures of the wheels that I recently purchased. I just have 2 right now and will get the other 2 that I have fixed on Monday...hopefully.

The tires that are on those wheels are 225/40/18 and I am going to put my current wider/a little thicker tires on them so that it obviously looks better

Let me know what ya'll think!

Something doesn't look right. They look small. Sidewalls shorter by chance?

I don't know, something strikes me the wrong way.

yes, I mentioned that...those tires are smaller than the tires that I am putting on, and the wheels have a lip which make the wheels look a little smaller

Good Job buddy, lookin sharp. I would terrorize those tires before you put your stock ones back on. Go to an empty parking lot and test out the limits of your car with those tires.

Make sure you get the parking lot owners permission otherwise your tresspassin.

Anywhoo..... those are Rays rims, theyr like $1500 on ebay. Nice find.

No, I'm going to sell off the 2 good tires so I can make some money back and holly crap I will have to post pics of the other tires that came with the other 2 wheels...

And yes, this is the outcome of nearly 3 months of camping, looking hard, negotiations, and people screwing me over!

8 front and 8.5 rear...BUT, myself and NmexMAX bought 2 sets of the wheels and I took 4 fronts (8'') and he took all rears (8.5) I'm sure he'll chime in soon enough.

When I looked at them from the side, I think that the 8.5 in the rear would look very hawt, but FWD... lol

Jesus H Christ..... those look raped. Still $130 per wheels is $260 to fix up a set of wheels that would cost $1500 or more brand new.

Thease are my next rims

ROTA 18x9.5 rims for track use along with a nice set of Falken R-615 Tires @ 285/35/18 would be pimpin.

I got the blanks, that's why. I wanted "performance" based baking, instead of "looks" based braking...slotted/drilled=decrease in braking performance.

They still have the coating on the hats, so that's why they are still silver shiny!

Tee hee hee, yeah they out there, but hey I'm only gonna have them for track use. The Falken 615 tires arent all that great on the street but once warmed up for Track use they rock. Plus thease things will take upto a 315 tire.

I cant go bigger then 295 i thing before it starts rubbing, but with that offset the inside clearance is the same, they just stick out further out of the car.

For track use they'r ideal

Before you get too excited about the weight savings, try them after you put the other tires on. Bet the difference after is only a few lbs.

yea, I know that's what I figured as well, but the bigger 245/45/18 tire weighs 27lbs and the rim weighs 18.2, so that is a total of an approximate 45.2lb...maybe my scale was just off, but we'll see soon enough!

Rotational mass & sprung vs unsprung weight makes more of a difference.

I went from stock A33B 17's (24lbs) to lightweight 17's (14.3lbs) and saw an increase in MPG, and an increase in performance as well.

I know what they are. That's what the car had when I sold it:
I've run:
Ford SVT Cobra 17x8
G35 Coupe 18s
Z track 18s (four fronts)
Z touring 18s

All btw cleared my Z32/Cobra rotor BBK with no spacers.
