Only early 2004 SL models came with the 4AT. An auto SE will have the 5AT.

That car is a 5 speed auto, look at the photos, there's one taken from the passenger side, another taken from the back seat both show the shifter

Some like the Elite pkg. It's pretty nice if you don't have kids or carry a lot of people. Other wise DPP, which looks like this car has, and sunroof. Other than that, maybe burnt orange leather.

6-Speed seems requested more.

Jsmithsole, did TeK just call you 'special' in so many words?

Well, out of 400,000+ 6th gens were sold from '04 to '06, only a handful of them were 6MT. I remember reading a lightonthehill post, it's like 1:1000. But the ratio of 6MT to autos are much higher here. I would guess 1:50.

I know that I would have liked to have gotten a 6 speed. That's probably the only regret I have with this car.

I had heard that nationwide, 2% of all 6th gen Maxima sales were standard trannies.....Oh to have had one......

On driver door sill, the decal will have something with color, trim, trans...: 4AT will show RE4F04B, 5AT will show RE5F22A. The model number just below should be BLJALVN... Position7 => Y=6M, N=5AT, A=4AT.

One other way to tell - If car is an SE (and the one for sale that started this post is an SE), it has to be either 5speed or manual. Period. If the car is an SL and was built after Feb 6th, 2004, it is 5speed. Period. Build date is inside door jamb.
