I own a 2004 maxima with 120000km (72000mile)
The steering rack output is loose at driver side.
I checked the inside (boot) tie rod and it is ok.
There is an up/down loose between the casting and the moving
part (rack) of the steering rack assembly. It's not a in/out loose.

The dealer told me that there is an adjustment screw to fix it.
If someone knows where is exactly that screw and what tool I need !
